Hughes is Safe! Official!

I just hope that he is as successful at defending his job with the Board as he is as a football manager

He said that last night he discussed the issue at length with the chairman and neither of them could understand why there is so much speculation about his future because they both knew this would be a transitional season

Is this the first instance of a manager giving himself an official vote of confidence?

Ha! I want Hughes to stay, but that is very funny!

our owners will fuck him off, i'm sure of that! aren't they used to always having the best? they inherited the taff and probably thought they would give him a go considering his playing history......

What you are suggesting is that Hughes is a liar.

That he's made up the stuff about the Chairman backing him for next season.

Or else the Chairman is a liar.

Which is it?

I hope the infamous ITK's on this board have a good answer for this... as my long-held view (fear?) was that he would still be in place for next term look like coming true.

Please...anyone out there... give me some hope to cling on to!

Everyone knows Hughes would never lie don't be silly. Just like he said that he officially ok'ed the Jo signing and all us hughes lovers agree that Jo was his signing.

As it looks like he is staying I just hope that people will NOT go ott with Hughes out etc at the Bolton game, as this would seriously damage the attractiveness of the club to any possible new recruits.

If he stays then so be it but I hope that if this is to be the case the owners make a statement of such within hours of the season ending. Generally I dont think the owners should have to comment on speculation but if they do not comment on this then we will have 3 months of the media stating how Hughes is getting sacked tomorrow and then the day after and so on.

Basically the owners know now whether Hughes is going or not so after next weeks game they should quickly end the speculation one way or another!
