Hughes Needed More Time

Time to draw a line under Mark Hughes once and for all.......Why do you think all the other prem managers are getting on City's case? They all had Hughes tactics and our teams ways of playing sussed time and time again.....They'll all struggle now because they don't know how Mancini will set up our team and hopefully Mancini has the know how to change the in game tactics when opposing sides make their own changes......Hughes and his back room staff could not do this and for those on here who think we played good football should have a long hard look over the last 18 months.

Hughes knew the only way he would keep his job was to win the carling cup, that's why he fielded his strongest side for every round. This was the best way to get the fans on side and our owners knew this. Now, they can bring in who they've wanted for ages and build from there. This decision was taken months ago.....the simple fact of all this is Mark Hughes was always going to go....the way it happened wasn't great but life goes on......and now our owners are happy they have someone who can attract big names if needed whether it is just till summer or for the length of the contract on offer.

Time and time again we played negative football. I, like every other season ticket holder and supporter wanted Hughes to succeed but it was never going to happen......

ok tin hat on........mark hughes should have been given more time than 18 months. some of the posts on this forum are ridiculous, ie " hughes's style of football was shite".....ive been to all the home games this year. and most of the time we have played attacking/attractive football!, maybe some games (hull) we tried to walk the ball in the net, but haven't aresenal been "accused" of that? the problem was the defence, and yes they are hughes's signings. but 18 months is not enough time for a back 4 to form an understanding,i think given time he would have made more signings like bellamy/de jong etc.......... iam 100% behind any decision ADUG make, (city are my concern not mark hughes) but they should have given him this saeson at least
Villa have got a completely new defence this season.
