hughes on dunne

hmmm, do I believe a Villa player or the City manager. Tough one that....
You don't believe our club could ever treat anyone badly?

Ask Colin Bell
Or Tony Book
Or Dennis Tueart
Or Jim Cassell
Or Joe Mercer
Or Neil Young

It doesn't matter what you believe.

The indisputable facts are

1. Dunne is a Villa player
2. Mark Hughes is Manager of Manchester City F.C. the greatest football club in all the world.

I know where my allegiances lie.

I don't think loving City means having to be a "Stepford Wife" and blindly believe every word that comes out of the club.

I believe that Dunne was upset that we had brought better players in and thought it would be best to get out rather than be a bit part player. For him then to come out straight away and try to get fans turning against the management at the club just smacks of bitterness that he isn't going to be a part of what we are going to achieve.

not according to the majority of posters on here If you don't back hughes you are a heratic
can't see the difference myself

I've enough faith in City fans to believe he will get a terrific reception when he plays at COMS.

And yes, I believe his opportunities would have been limited (behind Lescott, Toure, Nedum, Vinny) but I think it could have been handled with a bit more dignity at the club. Loyalty goes both ways.

funny how many people on here slagged everone off who said dunne didn't deserve a testimonial

low and behold the manager comes out and states dunne wanted to leave city fact

so all the posters on here who had a real go and slated the club for getting rid of the captain should perhaps post a retraction

Good luck with that, you've got more chance of getting blood from a stone.

or pussy from a brick.

I think Dunne is very bitter about having his replacement pursued whilst still captaining the side.

It must be hard to know your employers are buying an improved version and the guy who will get the armband is playing alongside you at the same time, all the while you are expected to perform which he did.

However I believe Dunne wanted to go. Hughes has been pretty straight down the line regarding the club and transfers in his time here. He is on a knife edge with many fans and I dont think he would be so stupid to put one over a player many see as a legend.
