I think my faith in Hughes is slowly being restored. He seemed very relaxed and at ease with the situation in that interview. This, couple with the signings he has made so far make me look forward to a better second half of the season.

Excellent. Not seen it yet but yeah I think we'll do better from now until the end of the season and having a good shot at 6th is on! Realistically who else is there going for that now other than the one's who are up there already...

Wigan? Lost Palacios...
West Ham? Lost Bellamy...
Hull? Lost Dean Windass...
Fulham? Losing interest...
Portsmouth? Lost Defoe...
Bolton? Do me a favour...
Newcastle? Oh please you're killing me...
Sunderland? No...
Blackburn? As if...
Boro'? I'd kill myself...
Stoke or WBA? Now we're just getting silly!

I think 7th (6 points off) is ours certainly and 6th (11 points off) ahead of Everton a distinct possibilty...

What? Spurs??? Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I still think that's very optimistic but achievable for sure. I can't see us finishing in the bottom half anyway. I'd put my money on 8th tbh.

I think it will be a real struggle to finish top 7 from here.

But I would expect a big improvement in the second half of the season.

Agreed, if we can sort out the away form we have a chance.

Everton are 11 points ahead, but we do have the Pompey game in hand.

Let's get right behind them, we are going to see more wins than in the first half of the season, of that i'm sure.

To be fair he was sayng that is the general view of Brazilians, and that before Elano many didn't know we existed.

He also said that they don't realise just how big a club we were, I thought it was a pretty fair report.

I'm sorry I just don't believe that. If that we're true why do we always hear about the Premier League being watched every week in Brazil? Who do they think the 'big four' play when they're not playing each other?

small clubs?

it'll be a struggle to finish higher than eighth i agree. but it'll be an embarrassment to finish lower than 8th IMO, given the squad we can field.

no chance 10th is the best we can do with the remaining fixtures 28 more points will leave us on 53points
