The rest are a bunch of foreigners who have never managed in England before.

Neither had Wenger, Benitez, Mourinho, Hiddink etc.

As a City fan for 40 years and student of the world game ....it has to be Frank Rijaard...Big Time...

If Hughes does go I think Jol would be an excellent choice, experience of Premiership and taking over average sides and making them better.

For fuck sake there are many good managers available that want to compete in the best league in the world... and there are plenty whod want the challenge with our money... on top of my head... rikjard, van gaal, Trappatoni, Cruyff, Mancini... and so on...

Dont forget folks this is the premiereship and we are the richest club in the world..

We could have our pick of a very exclusive list indeed.

i know this completely random but what about villareals manager? i dont know his name but damn this guy can get a smallish team to the semis of the champions league a few years back and consistantly does well in the champs league?

Bunch of pie in the sky suggestions. There is no fucking way that MON will leave Villa for us. Scolari did shite with Chelsea so he'd have no chance with us. The rest are a bunch of foreigners who have never managed in England before.

Mourinho might have the ego to take it on but I still don't think he'd bother at this stage.

Oh yeah foreign managers that have never managed in the prem before...please tell me what prem clubs mourinho, wenger, hiddink, raffa, etc managed before they went to their respective clubs.??

Frank Rijkaard
Felipe Scolari
Jose Mourinho (we could at least try to get him)
Roberto Mancini
Johan Cruyff
Sven-Göran Eriksson
Leo Beenhakker (unlikely during the qualifyers though)

Sure there are loads more though...I think Mourinho would be a pretty good choice he's a proven Prem manager. Not really convinced by him at Inter though, since he's not really doing a better job than Mancini. Inter lost a 2-0 lead in the second half in a match that ended 2-2 yesterday against Palermo, for example.

Also I doubt Johan Cruyff would go back to managing, but his style and principles are all there in Frank Rijkaard.
