Hughes Outers- Name names

Bring in a caretaker manager for now until the end of the season.

Invite applications, take your time and get the right man for the best job in world football, see who has applied and then decide.

Your argument making criteria for applicants is bollocks; there will be big names who apply for the job on condition of annonyminity, and the club will duly oblige so as not to upset their current employers.

For me maybe one or two managers in the world might not be interested the rest will.

Pretty much. So you get a giant paycheck and almost an unlimited amount of money to turn a mid-table prem team to a top team - it has to be just about one of the most attractive jobs in football.

caretaker manager

then either offer it to jose

or rijkaard

i want a manager thats gonna give us more world standing,

not a martin jol and not sven hes shit or martin o neil

As long as Mark Hughes is the Manager we should all support him. Therefore I am treating this thread with the contempt it deserves.

Gary Neville as player Manager anyone ?? The Prem has not had one for a while and he is local and a proven winner and he has learnt off the best theirs ever been . Get the message ? or do I come back on in a few minutes before "Lewis" starts and offer up Fat Sam or Chris Coleman or Strachan!!!

Has to be David Moyes for me.

see id like Moyes, he has good morals and values along with methods but it took years to get everton where they are......city fans arnt good at giving time

I'd rather Hughes did a good job than change manager again but at the moment I don't think he is doing anything like a good enough job and if he does not somehow bring some improvement before the end of the season, he will be very lucky to keep his job.

I'm certain that there are better managers out there who can be tempted to City; whether Mourinho is one of them is debatable but I would probably go for him if he would.

Mancini and Van Gaal would be on my list too.

nice to see some mentions for my first choice to approach, Cruyff; genius football mind, beautiful football, and Barca's most successful manager; also in talks in recent years to manage the Dutch team, but for whatever reasons they couldn't hammer out a deal. Damn that would be an incredible appointment (with whatever management team he'd want to bring with him) and I think we'd truly be looking forward to seeing something very special there, which would really fit with our 'project'.

if he's not available, then probably you could consider a whole bunch of others, like Van Gaal, Hiddink (be funny to steal him away from Chel$ki and perhaps even Russia), Rijkaard, Mourinho (although not my preferred style), Jol - if he really wanted a fast track return to the Prem, Klinsmann (who I wouldn't mind because I think he has some decent ideas and for the first time he had me supporting an attractive German team) and even Sven, who I think basically got screwed by Toxin. Right now I'd take him in as a caretaker for the rest of the season a la Hiddink.

there are many other well-qualified managers in addition to the above, like Mancini, so I really don't understand anyone who'd be worried about finding a decent replacement, or us being able to attract one. Worst outcome is they'd get a few more million in their bank account. I could live with getting sacked for that, no problem.

I should have been educated to be a football manager - best job in the whole world I think, even if you get an early bath!

Roberto Mancini.

Got success at Inter Milan, knows how to deal with big players, will attract big-name players, will get the best of of everyone and will spend money wisely.
