Not going to resign of his own free will, though, is he? Because he'd lose millions in compensation.

Not just that though, unless by some miracle he keeps QPR up and is kept on as manager his credibility is completely shot, he'll never get a half decent job again.

He didn't deserve to get the Fulham job (let alone the QPR positon) after we sacked him, If you ask me, he benefited from the perpetual media bullshit spouted about that at the time. In fact, the media myth about that still persists and will get him at least one more job, whatever happens at QPR.

Hiddink announced he'd been approached, Hughes went to Cook and said back me or sack me and the rest is history. To be honest, I always felt Cook was trying to curry favour with the fans he upset after he welcomed Uwe Rosler to the Manchester United Hall of Fame at a Supporters Do. So glad that odious swine left afterwards and was so well replaced by Ferran Soriano.

A thread about the imminent sacking of Mark Hughes and you somehow manage to crowbar a swipe at Garry Cook into it.

Do you have opinions on any other subjects?
He buys the city calendar for his bedroom in January to save money.

That's a good idea that is.

A better idea is to buy it in August when it is reduced in a clearance sale but thats for another thread.

Pam, you have shown yourself to be an idiot once again; He was n't fulham's first choice that was Martin Jol, Ajax would n't let him go so they ended up with hughes instead. However he did well at FFC finishing 8th, his spell at Blackburn would have been much of a talking point for the fulham board rather than his spell with us. Hughes is a good manager in the right situation, unfortunately for Leslie he has n't realised that yet. When given money and licence to bring in lots of faces he is n't really up to the job, his man management skills would have to be top notch, when you consider the has-beens and castoffs would n't necessarily have the most professional mindset as opposed to us bringing in players who know the aim is to challenge for honours. As a player the step up to the biggest clubs was too much for him, his own impatience as a manager will put to bed the only chance that he would have had to manage a big club on the european stage. He neglected the need to make a gradual rise from tier C, to tier B, to tier A. He must of thought he was in the running for a big club when left Fulham, unfortunately he was wrong and foolish for thinking that way, he jumped in to bed with QPR when he was promised a chance to pick his new toys when he would have been better of looking for a more established and settled club to show off his own perceived talent.

He is not absolutely useless, I don't like him personally but he has shown some worth as a manager, but one of the problems he has at the moment is the players he has brought in as his "lieutenants" (Bobby Zamora and Ryan Nelsen) are over hill and not the players who you should build a team around and may actually lose you respect in the dressing room rather than cement it.

I am sorry to have to say this, but that long description of Hughes, which I enjoyed reading, gives me the impression of someone who is, in fact, absolutely useless.

Ha Ha, people like to think he is but his biggest weakness is that he is n't critical of himself enough and so fails to realise where it went wrong when things turn sour I get the feeling that his ambition to prove himself is perhaps greater than his ambition for genuine managerial achievement and a successful career as football manager because he has passion for it, this is perhaps born out of frustrations as a player.

Ultimately the ADUG takeover was bad for Hughes personally, if Thaksin had still been at the club then it would have been hard to do but what he should have been looking at is a for the resources another regime would have given him is a 5th-8th place league finish and an assault on one of the cups, FA, Europa and league cup perhaps leading to a win.

This would have been progess and he could then make the step up to a champions league club, the takeover meant that Hughes had to step up a level far too soon, it is the equivilent of Chelsea buying Lukaku or Keirison at Barca and then throwing them in at the deep end, for the sake of their careers they would been better placed going to a stepping stone first. We were meant to be Hughes' stepping stone, when we became the (potential) Kingdom he wanted we found ourselves with a Knight who had not yet proved himself capable of becoming a prince.

Re: not long left for hughes

I have a feeling Fernandez will act before the weekend, what if by some fluke qpr beat utd, he'd be safe for a while but could well lose 3 or 4 of the next half dozen games and remain rick bottom. By then Harry is long gone to the Russian league and qpr are fucked.

Whats the chances......

Hughes is forced to manage QPR away at the scum, full in the knowledge that he will be getting the sack straight afterwards with Harry lookingon from the stands... and a QPR anouncement will be straight afterwards?

... couldn't happen to a nicer guy... the incompetent nincumpoop
