Wonder how long it will take for him to comment on their players' fitness levels?

or mutter the words, dynamic, obviously and that old favourite, my teams are always better 2nd half of the season and thats how we plan it.

The guy is a **** and football chairman never cease to amaze me on how fucking thick and blinkered they can be when it comes to a clubs most important decision.

they have a picture of his Hillbilly truck on bbc http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/22698812 (go to 17:39)

A Stoke City supporter stages his own protest against Mark Hughes' expected managerial appointment even before it has been made.

Carl, a season ticket-holder who did not want to give his surname, drove around Stoke on Tuesday with banner calling for "Hughes out", which cost him £50.

He said: "It is not just me, it is the thoughts of 90% of Stoke fans. Security made me move on from the Britannia so I drove around. I parked on motorway bridges and people were beeping their support at me and taking photos. He is not a long-term appointment but it looks as though he is going to be appointed anyway.

Fair play to that man, he's got the right idea.

He is a cliche manager. Thinks he is better than he is. Is incredibly greedy. He will no doubt start talking about making the training ground fit for purpose. I honestly think stoke will go down if he comes in. Just out of interest what sort of salary will he be on?

I wonder how long it will take him to terminate his contract citing that Stoke are not ambitious enough for where to wants to be, obviously.

Relegation for Stoke I guess.

Spot on!
Stoke is a far cry from when he walked out of Fulham and his infamous agent said... 'He wants to go to a club where he can fight for titles and win championships'
The Welsh mafia will rock up again - cue the imminent arrival of Mark Bowen and Eddie Niedzwiecki.
And he will start to trot out the same drivel as he has done at his previous clubs. Crap like:
'Football Factory'
The team / squad / players are not fit enough (even though he will have had a full pre-season with them)
His teams 'get stronger in the second half of the season'
'That's a game that this team would have lost in the past - and my side showed good character' (when he sneaks a lucky late draw against a newly promoted side).
His team at Stoke will always be 'well prepared' - you bet!
Mark Hughes - a crap manager for a crap team. They are ideally suited to each other.

Hmmm, not a bad price if it included the truck

I wonder how long it will take before we hear all the old Hughes quotes..

" we want to teach the players good habits "

" historically my teams perform better in the 2nd half of the season "

" i want to make sure we are never in this position again "

" i believe my backroom staff are the best in the prem "

They are the only ones i can think of...

The 2 things that stick in the memory of the Hughes era at City are

We couldnt defend

We couldnt win away

He went to QPR and they couldnt defend and couldnt win away..

That says it all about his limitations as a manager..

The obsession with him on here is staggering really. Ball was far worse as a manager, as was Clark, as was Frizzell, as was Neal etc etc. Indeed, google Manchester City managers and look at the win percentages of our managers; Hughes is nowhere near the bottom of the list. Yes, I'm sure his critics on here will point to the fact that he had a boat load of money at his disposal. Yet when the media point out the money we've spent, there is uproar on here. Weird. As I said there are a long list of ex managers who were worse than Hughes, yet they don't get a fraction of the abuse he gets on here. He took the team as far as he was able to take them, and time has proved the decision to remove him as the right one (handled appallingly at the time though, same as the Mancini sacking). He's been gone three and a half years now; time to move on.

You say it as though it's neither here nor there. We're only just getting shut of his worst mistakes now.
Of course there have been worse managers than Hughes. It doesn't change the fact that he was fucking useless and since getting sacked from here he's shown just how useless he is.
So then; why don't those other managers get the same amount of stick then? And re. the money. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy on here. When other managers/clubs mention the amount of money we've spent, this place goes ballistic. Yet that same money is used as a stick to beat Hughes with.

As it's already been pointed out, Hughes is still fresh in the memory. Re: the money, we had to spend to challenge. Hughes spent and we did fuck all. Mancini spent, and we won the FA cup, the Prem and a charity shield. I wasn't shouting for Hughes to be sacked at the time, but it was apparent after just a few games how much Mancini improved the team, and that was before he spent.

The money Hughes spent though laid decent foundations, and made us a more attractive proposition, for Mancini to come in and further propel us with players of a higher calibre.

Both have played a part in our development, its now time for next phase with a manager capable of delivering such.

In two or three years i expect similar to happen again.
