Hughes to joke city

Absolutely amazed at the stick Mark Hughes is getting on here. When he was our Manager right up until his dismissal our fans were split 50/50 into inners and outers now in hindsight everyone appears to be an outer. Never seen so many wise after the event.

Hughes made an absolute Dogs Dinner at QPR and isn't the best Manager in the World and I am suprised he has been considered for the Stoke job but I have a feeling he will do well there.

Given each Club's relevent standing in the game I think United fans with Moyes and Everton fans presumably with Martinez have got worse deals.
The obsession with him on here is staggering really. Ball was far worse as a manager, as was Clark, as was Frizzell, as was Neal etc etc. Indeed, google Manchester City managers and look at the win percentages of our managers; Hughes is nowhere near the bottom of the list. Yes, I'm sure his critics on here will point to the fact that he had a boat load of money at his disposal. Yet when the media point out the money we've spent, there is uproar on here. Weird. As I said there are a long list of ex managers who were worse than Hughes, yet they don't get a fraction of the abuse he gets on here. He took the team as far as he was able to take them, and time has proved the decision to remove him as the right one (handled appallingly at the time though, same as the Mancini sacking). He's been gone three and a half years now; time to move on.

You say it as though it's neither here nor there. We're only just getting shut of his worst mistakes now.
Of course there have been worse managers than Hughes. It doesn't change the fact that he was fucking useless and since getting sacked from here he's shown just how useless he is.

So then; why don't those other managers get the same amount of stick then? And re. the money. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy on here. When other managers/clubs mention the amount of money we've spent, this place goes ballistic. Yet that same money is used as a stick to beat Hughes with.

A Stoke City supporter stages his own protest against Mark Hughes' expected managerial appointment even before it has been made.

Carl, a season ticket-holder who did not want to give his surname, drove around Stoke on Tuesday with banner calling for "Hughes out", which cost him £50.

He said: "It is not just me, it is the thoughts of 90% of Stoke fans. Security made me move on from the Britannia so I drove around. I parked on motorway bridges and people were beeping their support at me and taking photos. He is not a long-term appointment but it looks as though he is going to be appointed anyway.

He's still fresh in the memory and still in the game unlike Ball, Clark etc. Pearce still gets the odd remark when his name comes up.

Hughes had the dream job and fucked it up, 2 wins from 11 games with those players! In a few weeks we'll finally have the last of his mistakes off the books. We saw an instant change when Mancini came in which exposed clueless for the fraud he is and he still keeps getting jobs even after the QPR disaster.

Next time Ball gets linked with a job I'm sure you'll have a queue of posters slagging off his managerial ability ;)

That bit did make me laugh.

Yes, that's right mate, they were beeping their support at you, you fucking lunatic.

Surprised Hughes wants that job

After putting QPR in the bottom 3 he'd be taking on a very difficult job that could kill his managerial career.

We all know Pulis has assembled a team to play a particular brand of football, and it's going to be very difficult to get them to play passing football and survive
