Ball was far worse as a manager, as was Clark, as was Frizzell, as was Neal etc etc. Indeed, google Manchester City managers and look at the win percentages of our managers; Hughes is nowhere near the bottom of the list. Yes, I'm sure his critics on here will point to the fact that he had a boat load of money at his disposal. Yet when the media point out the money we've spent, there is uproar on here. Weird. As I said there are a long list of ex managers who were worse than Hughes, yet they don't get a fraction of the abuse he gets on here. He took the team as far as he was able to take them, and time has proved the decision to remove him as the right one (handled appallingly at the time though, same as the Mancini sacking). He's been gone three and a half years now; time to move on.ifiwasarichfan said:Absolutely amazed at the stick Mark Hughes is getting on here. When he was our Manager right up until his dismissal our fans were split 50/50 into inners and outers now in hindsight everyone appears to be an outer. Never seen so many wise after the event.
Hughes made an absolute Dogs Dinner at QPR and isn't the best Manager in the World and I am suprised he has been considered for the Stoke job but I have a feeling he will do well there.
Given each Club's relevent standing in the game I think United fans with Moyes and Everton fans presumably with Martinez have got worse deals.
You say it as though it's neither here nor there. We're only just getting shut of his worst mistakes now.
Of course there have been worse managers than Hughes. It doesn't change the fact that he was fucking useless and since getting sacked from here he's shown just how useless he is.
