Hughes to joke city

If I was him I'd be embarrassed to attend an interview. Well I was ok for Blackburn, average at city, shit on fulham and relegated qpr! When can I start?

But that was all someone else's fault, remember?

Roberts Di Matteo is out of a job. Swansea recruited Michael Laudrup. There are many coaches out there that would transform Stoke into a mid table/top half side who play nice football. Signing Hughes would represent a complete lack of thought and effort at trying to make Stoke as good as they can be by their board. They have no debt, money to spend, a stadium that can be expanded and they want Hughes? Deary me!

Terrible move for them.

Laudrap has said he needs 200 million to improve Swansea. Spending that much doesn't mean improvement though does it Hughes. Obviously.

They won't fill it if Hughes rocks up.

The money Hughes spent though laid decent foundations, and made us a more attractive proposition, for Mancini to come in and further propel us with players of a higher calibre.

Both have played a part in our development, its now time for next phase with a manager capable of delivering such.

In two or three years i expect similar to happen again.

With Hughes every free kick, corner or set piece against us and your heart was in your mouth - we couldn't defend any of those to save our lives. It got to the stage we had to score at least 3 goals if not 4 to win at home! Hughes couldn't set up a team in a million years. Mancini totally re-invented us defensively then the following season went on to win the title and we have had the best defence in the Premiership since (and also scored a bag full of goals)
To even remotely hint that Hughes set the stall up for Mancini to succeed is genuinely laughable.
