Hugo Larsson

As a Swede I have seen Larsson quite a lot, and it would be surprising to me if we signed him. Offers very little going forward, is currently not even playing for our awful national team since the manager thinks he quote "never pass the ball forward". Still young and could develop, but I have seen nothing that suggests he is currently on a level that would make him a valuable part of a team that wants to be the best in the world.

God fucking no then the last thing this team needs is more sideways and backwards passing merchants

Still young and could develop, and clearly has talent being a regular in a good Bundesliga side, but I have seen nothing that suggests he is currently on a level that would make him a valuable part of a team that wants to be the best in the world.
The reason he is not is not playing says nothing about his ability as a footballer. Cantona and Laporte did not play for france they were decent. It is to do with JDT who has an issue with personalities. If you listen to Behrang Safari and Molins they will tell you the same.

I have spoken to 3 former internationals who have played in England ans Bundesliga. Ome said he. Is the best midfielder sin Jonas Thern coming from Sweden. The other said 2nd most talented player in the Sweden squad after Isak. The third said Frankfurt is good step but in a couple years he will be too good for them

I know City see a high ceiling based on discussions with Hasan Cetinkaya.

Like I said, he is young meaning he can and most likely will develop. But do I think he has shown enough so far that makes me think he would currently be a valuable part of a team that aims to be the best in the world? No.
And I disagree to your point that him not being able to outcompete awful players from the Swedish or Polish league to win a spot in Swedens midfield says "nothing" about his ability. It perhaps doesn't say it all and there are plenty of voices that think he should play, myself included. But it sure says something. In my opinion.

Far enough we disagree here. I am just stating what the pros say. Elanga and Sweberg also did not get picked over far inferior players.

I'm agreeing with that I think he should play for Sweden. But a player could be the best midfielder in Sweden and still far away from being Man City level. I like Larsson and as a Swede I have high hopes of him becoming an important part of our national team. But from what I have seen so far I think he would more likely struggle to get significant minutes here short term and I think we should aim higher. If I would say a PL player that is currently on a similar level based on what I have seen I would say someone like Sander Berge.

Sander Berge to me was hug talent that never truly blossomed. I understand your sceptism I just think he is at a similar level as Nico and Rodri was when he moved. Not expecting him to be the start straight away but give it a season or two and he would be a solid contributor.

This is also a good acknowledgment of his talent

Still depends on departures, if KDB, Gundogan, Silva, Kolarov and maybe Nunes leave we have some pretty big gaps in midfield. Even with an attacking midfield and say we keep one of the above that leaves us with Rodri, Gonzales, Foden, (one of the above), new AM and space for another b2b.

Yes GK, RB and AM but could really do with another b2b
I don't see it now we have got Nico Gonzales and have O'Reilly on our books.

Deary me Chiswick, its 2025, I am sure we have moved on from Kolarov by now.

For this season but beyond that he will get his chance.

For this season but beyond that he will get his chance.
from what I’ve seen tonight even if he gets a chance there is still a need for 2 more midfielders, one to replace Kev and that limits us to a very select few and another box to box 8 because Gundogan, Kovacic, Nunes and Silva (sadly) are not at the required standard
