This. A lot of people read about buyout clauses and immediately think that you HAVE to offer that amount or you cant buy the certain player. Clubs only put them in to make more money out of a player. Porto have done that with him most likely because they are ready to cash in on him.

Buy out clauses are meant to dissuade other teams from coming to poach players. I think if Boas stays, he wouldn't sell any of his stars coz I think he wants the challenge of putting his team up against the best of Europe to see where he stacks up.
