Sorry if I have got the wrong end of your argument but that is what it seems your implying. I think we are trying to ensure everyone can go to the game and not just those with a few bob in their later life.
I am sure some one on here can work out today's price of a game compared to what it did cost say 30 years ago.

as a nation we have never been better off. these days there are more distractions to spend our money. we drink more, drive more and holiday more. i take my holidays once the CL has taken place. personal choice. i go for a couple of nights maybe which leaves some dosh for hull away etc. i bet some people on here spend a lot more on cigs than i do going to city.

I think you would have to have a serious smoking habit to do that :-)

I may pay the £50 for this one. If you have to pay then you have to pay but as in the Wigan game 8 years ago or whenever it was, having paid my £45 or whatever it was, I felt I had earned my right to slag the twats off at the end of the game after the Shambolic performance they put in! I doubt that would happen again now but of it did, you may hear a few expletives from me!

you are right, they were a disgrace that day. we went back for more though didn't we :)

if some tight fisted pricks want to neglect our players go fucking let them. i missed loads of games when i was a kid as we had fuck all. now i can afford to go i'm going to go. i'm not the biggest blue you fucking loon(imo) i am just a old fan that spends his time and money on city rather than other things.

We also spend more on gas, electric, petrol, food, rent etc than ever before.

Football is expensive compared to any other form of weekend enterainment eg cinema, rugby, non-league football etc

The age of the aerage football fan is approx 40yrs old, football is losing fans between the age of 16/18(when they pay full price) and their 40s. Lots of people will find other things to do. Its nothing to do with being 'tight fisted' just people are sick of being, or feeling they are, being ripped off

What a shite comment and a ridiculous previous statement. Trying to appear to be one of the world's biggest blues and "a top WUM lolz" in same discussion. Nice going.

Apart from the fact that issues like this are actually really important to a lot of people, seriously jeopardising an activity that in some cases has lasted decades or even generations of the same families, and such a discussion is not an appropriate place to be acting like a nob (imo, obviously)

All a question of priorities
Some of us old farts choose to prioritise spending our cash following City rather than pissing it up the wall or whatever nefarious activity you get up to these days

i think you are making a valid point about the younger element though
the baby boomers have never had it so good and have lots of disposable income
the younger fans have lots of outlays already and so luxuries, which football has become, will go first

as you say if they stop going will they return, and what happens when the boomers are all gone ?

ripped off is when you dont have a choice. i do agree though its not cheap. all the entertainment idustry is.
i went to the cinema the other day 13 quid a piece.

I'm sure someone would have posted this on another thread. Sky Sports were reporting Newcastle, Everton and Swansea have some kind of reciprocal agreement in lowering the ticket prices for away fans, so if Swansea for instance lower there prices, Newcastle will do the same in return.. This should be done across the board in my eyes.

We can't criticise anyone with the rip off prices we charge!

If you don't like it, don't go. It's that simple.

Exactly this.

Also, Hull are continuing what they did last season. Agreeing prices with other clubs, we will charge you less if you charge us less. Obviously City have yet again refused to agree to such deals. So we all lose out!

How do you know its City refusing the deals? I'll be surprised if Hull come here and get charged £50. Maybe its Hull who have thought lets take as much from the City fans as we can! They'll do the same with Liverpool, Arsenal Everton United and Chelsea.

To put the ticket prices into context, I've recently paid £55 for a family ticket to a decent theme park. Me, the missus and two kids can go in at 09:30 and stay for 8 or 9 hours. Alternatively, I can take the same two kids but not the missus to a football match for double the price and it'll last for two hours.

All the clubs are having a laugh at loyal fans.
