Hull city rebranded

A point that a lot of the people saying the change isn't too bad will be unaware of though is that the owner has been in a constant dispute with Hull City Council. He tried to buy the KC Stadium but was knocked back. That's what started it. Some fans see the removing of 'City' as a dig at the council.
He has also looked into building a new stadium in Melton which is 10 miles outside the City. So to those saying it's nothing like MK Dons, does this alter your thinking?

No, as this is pure speculation. The dropping of City, which hasn't actually happened, is hardly a dig. Dropping Hull would be.
The stadium would be a backwards move. I think even Assan knows that.

But how fucked off would you feel if the Shiekh changed our name to 'The Manchester Eagles'?
Give us a clue, why Eagles? - The relevance being that Hull City's nickname is "the tigers", probably because of their kit though some seem to be struggling with that. The closest would be us becoming Manchester Citizens or Manchester Blues.

Have you looked at our badge recently? Also, he's referring to the trend to often try to anthropomorphise teams for nicknames.

tigers and eagles are difficult anthropoids it is more a version of totemism (our eagle was lifted from a now defunct Manchester Corporation crest btw)

Just change the spurs badge to this,

It's not an eagle on the badge, it's a phoenix.

I think this is just the start of the embarrassing rebranding that could take place. We've already seen the ball rolling with the MK Dons and then we've had Cardiff City changing their colours to fit in with the owners grand financial plans......so this latest farce with Hull is just another example of the game going a bit tits up.

On one hand it's amusing but it really could happen to any club in the football league if the wrong people get their hands on the club.

I remember some senior cricket type saying in an interview some years back, when cricket teams first adopted stupid names, that it would encourage loads of younger fans to watch the game. I wonder if the cricketing hierarchy is happy to now admit that it did nothing of the sort.
