Hull city rebranded

Seems he forgot to inform the League.

A Premier League spokesman told Sportsmail: ‘We have not been informed of a change in the name of the actual club, it is the company name that has changed. They will still be known as Hull City as far as the Premier League is concerned when results or fixtures are published. We understand the move is more to do with their international reputation.

International reputation??!!

Hull City have been known as The Tigers for a long time. I think Hull City Tigers has quite a ring to it, but I agree it does smack of the old Americanisms.

I don't think you can apply that naming convention to too many teams though.

Apologies in advance for this geeky question - too much time on my hands this morning.

Hull City is a name unique amongst team names in English leagues.

'Hull City Tigers' is not.

No prizes for the reason. And don't ban me when you learn the answer.

Is it because, as mention on a previous page, one cannot colour any part of the letters of their name in?
