Huw Edwards - 6 month suspended sentence (pg 107)

I imagine that is absolutely correct, and having put himself on the pedestal of being 'the voice of the nation' his fall from grace will be harder and further than it otherwise would be. I don't see this as a cover up or him getting away with anything.
It’s a well orchestrated, well planned end to his tv career , anyone who can’t see that this is all about preserving the BBC’s reputation is extremely naive.

Or they watched Newsnight last night and realised that’s the last thing they would ever put out if they actually wanted a well orchestrated end to his tv career.

I can imagine the conversation now. “Yes let’s bury this, I know what’ll help, we’ll get Rod Liddle on to really kick the boot in as well as say publicly we’re also investigating new complaints that were raised internally…”

Glad the two if you admit your motive
I’d feel the same if it was ITV/Sky, etc, it just fits the BBC agenda of hiding deviant behaviour despite the Management knowing this has been a long standing issue. Do your research before posting a flippant comment.

No you're right, you didn't mention the nonce, that was another poster, so I retract that.

However we already know she couldn't have been under 16.

Honest question. If any man looked at a porn website and an 18 year old model is getting porked senseless, would you class that person as borderline paedo?

If that's the case, there must be 20 million in that category.
'Barely legal' is a very popular porn category (so I'm told), but there again so is 'BBC' :-)

Of course there will be an element of that. Any employer would try to distance themselves and minimise the corporate damage done by an employee caught doing something inappropriate.

What about fisting?

"The public interest" doesn't mean anything and everything that might interest some of the public.
I'm not sure of the parameters, but they seem pretty broad, because almost every celebrity affair is deemed 'in the public interest.' But 'man buys porn', which in essence is what this story is, doesn't seem like it'd qualify to me. Obviously they try to then do some bullshit about the BBC's handling of the case to try and give it some public interest legitimacy.

Do you want me to send you PM links of a family that’s almost been destroyed by this kind of behaviour? I’ll do it under the proviso you don’t divulge on here, it’s very sad and has affected the lives of a mother and her 4 kids, a successful businessman who has been convicted twice, the second time after his wife gave him a second chance. There’s an aura of desperation about the family as they try to live a normal life. I can imagine Edwards, wife and kids going through the same dilemma.
