I will never forgive for that Hamburg match .
He was dreadful that night .

Caicedo gets a bad press, he wasn't the best striker ever, but for a raw young lad he was strong as fuck and put himself about. He scored a good goal against Hamburg and on another day that tap in would've bounced off him and gone in instead of over. Hamburg at home was probably his best game for us, so no idea where you got that he was dreadful from.

Two pretty old ones. Bobby Kennedy, I think we paid 45k which was a lot of money back in the early 60s. Once Mercer showed up, he was never more than a squad player.
Then Mercer's first signing, Ralph Brand. Was an absolute legend at Rangers. I think he scored about two goals for us. Even Mercer wasn't infallible.

Brian ... re Bobby Kennedy I think you are wrong, he gave us good service, you don't serve for 8 years and play 254 games for us without contributing something ... even if some is in the Second Division. For Mercer's first year when we won the 2nd Division he was the regular right-back > yes I agree that the following year , back in Division 1, he had to play second-fiddle to a new player that Malcolm Allison thought was needed, a certain Tony Book (whatever happened to him ??) .

Re Ralph Brand ... well I can't disagree with that one !!!

I think the Jo transfer is the most baffling and terrible one that we have seen. I think we paid 19 million for him with thaksin's frozen money. Thank fuck for the sheikh. To be fair though Jo did look good on YouTube.

Just the way in which we were 3-0 down at HT Sir Joseph of Barton sent off and Anelka off injured to then win 4-3. Prefer SWP's goal in that 4-1.

Don't agree with one poster re -Felipe Calceido - scored against Hamburg - nearly made it 3-1 for us. Now plays for Ath. Madrid - saw him subbed in a CL game.
One player I cannot remember his name - played RB for us in the last 1 or 2 years at Maine Road - he was french and garbage. ???? anyone

Caicedo is at espanyol not athletico. Thought he was fairly decent for us, wasn't a world beater but he was young.

Yeah he was great to watch mate but couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Yep he missed loads of sitters in that cup tie against Birmingham.
As well as the four arses he managed to hit with four banjos.
