Hyped transfers who turned out to be garbage

Yep he missed loads of sitters in that cup tie against Birmingham.
As well as the four arses he managed to hit with four banjos.
Yes mate and because this was quoted and quoted and people don't read the full thread they now think i have added him to the list of garbage buys and i didnt.

I think I'm still waiting for Bojinov to come good tbh. Emile Mpenza is the one that stands out for me though, just because he was possibly the best striker in the world on Champ Manager 01/02, which I played an ungodly amount as a kid, so when we signed him I knew it was fate that he'd be bagging 20 a season for us for the next 5 years, just as he had on my Champ manager save. Not quite how that turned out (to be fair, all his hype was in my own head, I don't think anyone who'd actually seen him play in the previous few years was remotely excited at the thought of him playing for City)
He scored a couple of goals that kept us up though towards the back end of the season

Djamel Abdoun
Michael Ball
Tal ben Haim
Antoine Sibierski
David Sommeil
Geert De Vlieger
Christian Negouai
Ronald Wattereus
Djamel Belmadi
Lucien Mettomo

But the best one is fro the rags, Massimo Taibi

This thread seems to have gone from hyped players that turned out to be garbage to simply listing garbage players!

Still some great shouts being made though regardless.

Kudos to those mentioning the Everton players that Kendall signed for us. His whole tenure at City is a huge conspiracy for me. Sell our better players to Everton (i.e. Hinchcliffe) and sign the unwanted dross from Everton - all in preparation for his return to Everton. It's almost the equivalent of playing Football Manager, and adding a manager just so you can sign the players you want and get rid of the players you don't.
