I don't get arena gigs

I have been to the MEN once and it was awful and souless

I have been in tents small venues, dance halls, ballrooms, fields and they have all been fantastic

give me the Apollo, Ritz, Ruby Lounge, Yes, BOTW, Albert Hall, night and day, even the old ducie bridge any day over an arena

And many more similar venues in Sheffield, liverpool, leeds, london

cannot see me ever entering the CO-OP one if honest

Does anyone agree?

I've seen plenty of gigs at 02 arena, it's a bit cooperate but always had a good time.

Yeah, they're shit. Although I went to a lot of them in my younger days as that was the only way to see some of the bands I wanted to see.
I much prefer seeing a band in the middle of a field or a small theatre.

Loved venues like the Boardwalk and the International. Miss all that. £3 to see James in 1987....and they were fucking amazing live back then.

Depends really.

In the whole I agree with you, smaller venues are miles better.

Must admit though I saw the Who at the MEN a few years ago and it was brilliant. Over the top and a bit stupid, but exactly what an arena show should be. Loved it.

now the MEN gig I went to was James in 2016 and it was probably the worst jame gig I went to, not because they were poor, as always they put on a great show but it just didn't feel right or as intimate as an experience.

plenty of big bands do small venues as well as arenas for pre tour or albulm launches amd they are always better experience in my opinipn

gutted I missed Kylie at Gorilla a few years ago, that would have been a great gig to see in such an intimate venue.

Manchester Arena is fucking horrible.
Seen some great performers there but always resented them playing that dump.
