I hate this government

We'd all love our employers to shower us with index-linked pay and staggeringly generous pension schemes regardless of the economic conditions, but we live in the real world and realise that it isn't going to happen.

The thing about many public sector workers is they think these things are some kind of right, and seem genuinely amazed and outraged when their employer begins to treat them with anything but the utmost generosity.

Then they moan and whine to the rest of us as about their nasty employer, and all they really usually reveal is how well treated they are compared to most of the workers who pay their wages.

Told you he would be along.......

It's all about supply and demand.

There's only so much urmston to go round but when a poster supplies the right thread then by popular demand urmston appears.

No, I just post on topics which interest me. That's why you won't find me on the 'which telly should I buy this week' style topics.

To be fair, he doesn't have to go to too much trouble.

He only has three posts and just has to paste them into the relevant thread whenever the opportunity arises.

I just hate all politicians as they piss in the same fucking pot.

Just remember mate as they congratulate each other on an 11% pay rise and spend £Millions on expenses, we are all in this together.

Urmston will be along shortly to tell you how you are overpaid and don't deserve anything mate.

The pay rise is NOTHING to do with the government. Pay is now set by an independent body.
Just be grateful we don´t have Red Ed and Ed "I Crashed The Car" Balls anywhere near the levers of power.
This government have pulled us back from the brink and we now have the fastest growing economy in Europe.
We should be thanful and grateful to the Tories for saving the day yet again.

Would that be the same independent body that considered the pay for the NHS staff?

Or the same independant body that awarded City the Super Casino. How can you tell if a politician is lying? His mouth moves! Tossers the lot of them, good luck with your action

If only it was so easy yet my 24 years of pension would be up the swanny but that's ok to change my contract at such a late date isn't it and make me pay more and work longer I'm sure if your mortgage company did the same you'd love it, excuse me Mr Uwe we miscalculated we need you to pay your mortgage for another 8 years and the intrest rate is going up 4% oh and at the end your house will be worth a hell of a lot less.

Feel for you mate, had the same problem working for a Gov Dept. After 33 years getting ripped off, the last 6/7 years with either no pay rise or 1% rise while my pension conts were going up to eat up any pay rise I was lucky enough to get. I managed to get a package.

I'm well out of it.

Forca the Firemen.

Are you really sticking your head above the parapet again after the embarrassing you got on the NHS Strike thread?

Whop de do.

I work for DHL. I haven't had a pay rise in 7 years except for 1% last year. In that time I've lost loads of stuff like free Bupa, paid sick pay reduced, yearly bonus etc etc.

Just because you work for the government it doesn't mean you are the only ones being put under the cosh. Is it worth striking for? Nope, as the outcome is the same. If there's no pot to piss in then there's no pot to piss in.

The pensions and add ons were worked out and given to people when no one gave a thought to the future. Now companies/ governments are bricking it and trying to reign in their costs.

What can you do? Public sympathy for your cause is stretched a bit as they are all in the same boat. Most people I know haven't had a pay rise in years, or at least a decent one.

So you strike.

For fuck all.

All in this together eh?
