United know what it takes to win the league. As a squad, we don't yet. What I mean is our players really don't know how much it takes. And that's big. Massive even, if you will.

Bar Yaya, most of our signings were from second-tier clubs and have never won a league with their clubs. They are learning that you have to give everything and grind out results in any way possible on those cold January nights.

There is a formula to becoming champions, and our players are learning it.
spot on
Well, thank you. :-)

one thing that has annoyed the hell out of me with this club over the years has been talking of getting rid of our manager, especially mid season.(hughes, erikson?)

i hate to say it , but you all need to calm down you bell-ends!

Didn't stop Blackburn winning it after spending considerably less.

Prices are inflated these days. Blackburn spent a fucking lot for those times.

Also, the league was considerably weaker in 95. 90's premier league wasn't /nearly/ as strong as 90's Serie A.

I was only a youngster in 1995, so please inform me.

What was the strength of the opposition like in 1995 ? on par with Spurs,United,Chelsea,Arsenal,Liverpool even Newcastle of this year ?

Also, in reference to spending considerably less than us in 1995, How many 2nd rate strikers were bought for £35 million in 1995 ? And how many out of form international strikers were purchashed for £50 million ?

you cannot compare how much we have spent to how much a team in 1995 spent, Spending £15 million then is the equivalent to spending £40 million now.

Blackburn did win it and spent considerably less, but the transfer fees they paid at that time were extortionate and IIRC, they were a midges dick away from not winning the league.
On the last day of the season they lost at Liverpool and fortunately for them, the rags were beaten as well

We'll know far more about our chances of winning the league after March 4th. The rags have Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham coming up in their next four games
We need to sort our away form out

But if we dont win the league, Mancini has to go. He has spent fortune on quality players and to lose the league to the weakest Man u team in 10+ years who had their captain and best CB injured pretty much all season is not good enough. With going out early in all three cups, the league is the only thing that can save his job

Agreed the season is rapidly descending into oblivion. If he doesn't win the league he needs replacing with Jose if it's not been arranged already. We have been shit since the 6-1 at OT

I think Mourinho is a great coach, but I don't want him here. He creates a circus everywhere he goes. Whether or not it's true, a lot of the talk is how he has divided the dressing room of not only Madrid but Spain too. People were angry enough about the controversy Mancini brought by his imaginary card waving. Plus he is the reason Silva is at City. There was a deal in place and he discarded it because Silva isn't his type of player. I don't believe he would sell him(or the board would let him), but if he came in he wouldn't stick with half of the players we have now.

We've been hit hard by player absences and bad decisions. But we are still top of the league and unless we finish out of the top four, Mancini is the manager I want next year.

We all know he will be fired if we don't win the league, hence the boards decision not to discuss a new contract with him until the summer. That said we still top and I for one can't see us not winning it especially with the 'easier' games remaining.
