I Know It’s Over

This is a team that pretty much every match from Feb on has been a cup final for years. You just can’t play with that intensity in Oct-Nov and that’s when we have our bad spells. The big unknown this season is obviously can we do it without Rodri.

If we can stay within 6-8 points it’ll be interesting as we’ll handle the pressure better. My gut says if we don’t buy in January, it’ll be too much unless the winning total is 10-15 points less than normal.

Not sure what’s supposed to be over but it certainly ain’t the PL. get Rodri and KDB back and Pep working his magic in the second half of the season. I’m relaxed

It’s not over but Rodri? we wont see him kick a ball this season mate.

Right, but the thing is, if you keep saying "We're doomed, we're doomed" 100 seasons in a row, and then in the 100th season we finally are doomed, that doesn't mean you were right - it means you were wrong 99 times. I could start saying "We're going to get relegated" every season from today, and in 2074 when City eventually get relegated I could just point and say "See, I was right!"
You are correct. But you can see the signs are now clearly evident.
This is different than before. It has a watershed moment feeling to it, somehow.
Maybe Pep has told the squad he's going and theyve slacked off, which is worrying. If he's told them he's staying and this is the reaction, then that's even more worrying.

We said exactly the same thing in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. You can say "It's different this time!" until you're blue in the face, but you can find posts exactly like yours at this exact stage of every season for the last few years.

Again, let's see where we are in February and March before we start coming out with these grand hyperbolic statements that the Pep era is over, that the players have downed tools and given up.

We're normally up and down from September to November in every season. Throw in the fact that we're facing an unprecedented injury crisis and you can understand why we're not at our best levels.

If we've got everyone back fit in the new year and we're still struggling, we can start to talk about this era maybe coming to an end, but while 10/11 players remain injured I'm not listening to this kind of talk.
