i think he did an ok job last season......he came in late had little time with the squad to try and get them to gel. And agree with someone about him lacking having a 'plan b' during games, but i also think that he may not have had the players for different options/scenarios.
(my only problem with his tactics were him sticking with 3 forwards when we were up by 2 goals at home to liverpool. half time shut up shop!)

This season HAS to be different however........

I like him now,I really like him. He keeps his cards close to his chest and,I despair at his pissed off face for 90 minutes of every game

However,he conducts himself well. I think he has the best intentions of this club,it's fans and,it's investors at heart

Yeah he's the man he's already taken the club to new heights on such limited budget last season. Who knows where we'll end up this season coming I'm already pissing my pants with excitement of seeing us play away we were so good last season and lets just hope we have nearly as good a cup runs as we did last season

I wasn't particularly excited when we appointed Hughes as manager, and at times last season he left me exasperated (particularly with the away form, which was indisputably woeful) but on the whole I was on his side.

There were glimpses of better times ahead with our performances at Eastlands and, well, I was sick and tired of us changing manager all the time. He's certainly endeared himself to me (not that that really matters, of course) with his handling of the media and he seems to be pretty focused, not taking shit off players or rival managers, including Ferguson.

Next season there will be an inordinate amount of pressure on him, but he seems to be handling well thus far. My only concern is that every time we don't win some fans will scream that he's not up to the job. That's just the nature of modern football fans I guess.

The owners have clearly given him their full backing, so it would be nice if the fans did so too (which I think on the whole they have). That's not to say he's beyond criticism, far from him. But we're got a veritable shitstorm of negative publicity heading our way next season from all quarters, so we need to group together and judge his performance in May, not before.

Overall I tend to agree with most of what you said, however, no manager can ever be given the freedom of not being judged during the season for example if we are in the bottom three around Xmas like last year, do you feel he can't be judged at that point?
