I might be wrong but I doubt it

Tiatto was dump

I never liked Bruce Tiatto either.

For me, he was always a reckless liability, and this was summed up perfectly, when he was sent off against Blackburn only four minutes after coming on as sub.

I don't think KK ever forgave him for that.

At what point did people start thinking that Dickov was a decent striker?
Was he ever a decent striker?

Dickov was shite. He's immortalised by Blues because of one goal, when it was because he was shit we finished in the play offs
I won't go into the number of players who I thought were good and they turned out shite. There are far too many

Am I alone in being completely underwhelmed when we signed Tevez?
He turned out to be one hell of a player, a total ****, but a great player

Wasn't it George Weah who nobbled Irwin in his testimonial?

Yeah, apart from that did he do anything in a Blue shirt ?

Scored at Anfield (I think) but that was literally it. Don't blame him for what happened though, I'd have done the same if, as a former World Player of the Year, I found myself on the bench against Bradford City.

Sorry my mistake. I was thinking of another Tiatto challenge (on Phil Neville I think) when we lost 1-0 at Maine Road.

-- Tue Sep 04, 2012 3:50 pm --

When City beat United in the 86 Youth Cup final how many blues thought that David White would be the first to play for England?

I never, ever rated Dickov. He scored that one (albeit historical, momentous) goal in '99 and lived off it for a decade.

I once foolishly had a bet with me mate that Dickov would get 5 goals. In a full season (can't remember which season but it was Prem), including all cup comps.

Its not that I rated Dickov (he was turd), I was just convinced that in a full season even I could bag 5 goals, let alone a professional striker. You can get 5 by just goal hanging and letting it hit you ffs.

Needless to say, he didn't get 5. In fact, he didn't even get 1.

For me it was the hat trick at Burnley. For many it was later, but I don’t recall much earlier evidence.
When City won 6-0 at Turf Moor it was almost a year since Shaun Goater had made his debut for City at Valley Parade. How many fans, as we remember the chances that went begging, could honestly claim that they knew all along that Joe Royle had unearthed a diamond?
Similarly, at what point did Danny Tiatto switch from reckless liability to wholehearted professional? Was it the personal shame after his wild haymaker thrown in the general direction of a Reading forward, or was it the two footed lunge that saw Dennis Irwin leave the field on a stretcher in his own Testimonial?
On the other side of the coin I remember the emotional outpouring after City had gained promotion at Ewood Park. It remains one of my favourite seasons, if only for the fact that City won so many games from desperate situations with little time remaining.
The two star performers were undoubtedly Mark Kennedy and the emerging Nicky Weaver. They were firm favourites, yet both players were soon exposed to ridicule and never fully recovered.

How many goals will Edin have to score before he is fully embraced?
Have you ever admitted that you were wrong about a player?

was at valley parade for the goats debut..remember it well, he looked awful, although as i recall we probably didn,t help his early days by lumping the ball up to him and using him as a target man.shaun wasn,t bad in the air by any means but it took a while for us to realize his strength was actually being in the right place in the right time to poke the ball into the net..nothing else.

i still shudder at how bad his approach play was in the early days, thought we,d signed a lower league donkey, how wrong can you be..?!!

got the impression that goater absolutely loved playing in the same team as ali b and berkovic, they must have been the best days of his playing career, even tho keegan never really made him first choice striker.
