I might be wrong but I doubt it

I thought Dabo would of been a good signing and at the time Lazio fans were sorry to see him go. Corradi played for a few big clubs and could of been a bargain for us.
The shittest City player I have ever watched and I have seen a lot of shit players.

Bloody hell, that's a bold shout! My shittest City player would be one of Laurent Charvet, Jason van Blerk or Gareth Taylor. But it really could be a long list.

-- Wed Sep 05, 2012 8:04 am --

Ireland was one of the best midfielders in the league for one season then started to believe his own hype, now struggles to get into a shit villa team! oh what could of been! surprised Hughes has never tried to sign him he seemed to get the best out of him.

Ireland had one good season in his entire City career. Every season before and after that good season, he has been either gash or just not played at all.

Kennedy and weaver were excellent that season. I had the white away shirt with Kennedy on the back. Great double at home to Norwich and a screamer at the reebok stadium. Not to mention the goal at ewood and his crossing was fantastic. Weaver was just heroic. The team really fought for the fans that season.

Bianchi, at first I thought we'd signed a lemon, but then I saw his deft touch, skill and his deadly left foot. Imagine him and Aguero playing together, its just too much!

Robbie Fowler - i thought we were really going places, Fowler and the Elk, dream stuff, turned out we'd not signed the player i thought we had, instead got a fat lazy stroker...

Nigel Clough - thought he had a touch of class about him at first, soon realised he had the touch of a serial rapist...

The other way - Bellamy - hated him and his ways and wasnt happy he signed, but when he came he was a 100% - might still have been a **** but he was our ****.

For me it was the hat trick at Burnley. For many it was later, but I don’t recall much earlier evidence.
When City won 6-0 at Turf Moor it was almost a year since Shaun Goater had made his debut for City at Valley Parade. How many fans, as we remember the chances that went begging, could honestly claim that they knew all along that Joe Royle had unearthed a diamond?
Similarly, at what point did Danny Tiatto switch from reckless liability to wholehearted professional? Was it the personal shame after his wild haymaker thrown in the general direction of a Reading forward, or was it the two footed lunge that saw Dennis Irwin leave the field on a stretcher in his own Testimonial?
On the other side of the coin I remember the emotional outpouring after City had gained promotion at Ewood Park. It remains one of my favourite seasons, if only for the fact that City won so many games from desperate situations with little time remaining.
The two star performers were undoubtedly Mark Kennedy and the emerging Nicky Weaver. They were firm favourites, yet both players were soon exposed to ridicule and never fully recovered.

How many goals will Edin have to score before he is fully embraced?
Have you ever admitted that you were wrong about a player?
Good post, but to my mind Dzeko is already very popular with match going fans, and has been ever since that goal at Notts County. Sometimes Internet forums are not the best way of assessing opinion.

Barry Conlon, anyone? Micheal Frontzek? The above were pedigree compared to these two. From the period 1996 to 2000, there were some terrible signings.

Fair point.

A few times on Saturday the crowd started the 'Edin Dzekooo-ooo' chant after he had done something not particularly special. Like miss with a shot or get caught offside.

A lot of Dzeko's goals have come in games which have more than usual significance. He scored the first goal of the season for us last year against Swansea. The 5-1 at Spurs whenhe got 4 was the first time last season that we really announced ourselves as potential champions. Given that we had been toe-to-toe with them for the last couple of seasons for 4th place, that demolition of Tottenham was and is seen by many as a highly important win. Then there was the brace at the swamp (is it 4 in 4 against the rags for him?), the Notts County Goal as you say, the winner against Wigan in January and (of course) the equaliser against QPR in May.

I think when you are at a game (like QPR in May) where things are going wrong, the sense of relief all round the stadium is much more palpable than if you are watching at home or listening on the radio. Goals against the rags always help a player's popularity. And he's just a nice bloke.

I am with you - the blue moon crowd treats him a fair it more harshly than the match going crowd does.

, or Both his goals this season have come at times when we were struggling.

Dzeko had a stinker against QPR, regardless of the goal. But I think he tends to get a fair reception from the match going crowd. It's not like he's getting Edghill treatment (which was also unwarranted, btw.)

Must admit im not Dzecko's biggest fan and I find him very frustrating at times, but you cant argue with his goal scoring record.

One word. Gerry Creaney.
