I miss Hughes

the draws were frustrating as hell i agree, but at least the games were entertaining....

Some were, most weren't.

not sure what you mean by the last part though, why wouldn't the kids complain about not getting a game? you would think the kids are itching to get some minutes?

I'd say they all see themselves in with a much better chance of getting those minutes under Mancini than they had before.

yeah know what you mean,in fairness im not too fussed hughes has gone, like you mention hughes swept the academy to the side slowly but surely!
Its just a strange one when Mancini puts an ageing, and clearly slow sylvinho on when in a winning position instead a youngster.....yes i am agest!

Lets not forget that what any of us think makes fuck all difference in the end. What killed off Hughes, and what will either save or kill off Mancini, is what the Sheik thinks.

In my opinion (which makes fuck all difference) there are two types of people - those who want to be entertained and watch good football, and those who want to win regardless of how it's done.

It's that happy medium that makes a top 4 side top 4.

Chelsea play brilliant football and win
The rags play tidy football and win (with a little added help)
Arsenal play mind bogglingly beautiful football the majority of the time - and tend to win
Liverpool CAN play sound football and until recently did win

Under Hughes we played fairly decent football and managed to drop easy points.
Under Mancini we play (recently) really defensive football which can be "paint dry" boring but we've picked up the points we should've (barring Hull).

Lets hope the Sheik can see the points tally, and decide to give Mancini more time; in the hope the experience and time allow Mancini to put out some more attractive football. In short for Mancini's sake lets hope the Sheik's the type of guy who wants results and doesnt care how.

I would like to see some sound football going on at our place, but that'll come through better, more consistent players; and if we can get the points to make 4th we've a chance of getting those players. :/

I'm guessing this post will be labelled as bullshit but hey ho.

If Hughes had remained in the job he would have lost all the league games and we'd now be out of the FA Cup having lost at Boro.

He'd have spent £100m on Upson, Bentley, Parker and Samba.

FACT.

.....clearly not a fact
....clearly just ramblings

He seems to like the double swap of left backs, done it a few times now.

Not sure how ready Cunningham is for league football, wouldn't bother me if he came on instead of Sylvinho. Sometimes think we're a side that lacks that ability to close out a game so I'm not too bothered if he goes with experience every now and then.

Like with anything, it all depends on the result, concede 2 late goals against Bolton and you could easily criticise whatever decision he made.

I saw de Niro make a similar outlandish and ludicrous statement... so I thought i'd join in with him!

Did you reply in similar style to de Niro's post...?

Jesus fucking christ...¬¬

Football under Hughes was just unbearable. He didn't know what he was doing, the majority of the signings he made we're very impressive to say the least but his lack of managerial skills meant he couldn't get the best out of them.
After just 2 months of Mancini at the helm, hes got us playing a better and most importantly a more consistent standard of football.

No he wouldn't have.

Our summer signings weren't in the Bentley catogary were they?

Mancini got Vieira ffs, pointless signing.

Cheers Clarkie.

must admit i would still prefer hughes. id rather win 4-3 and playing the best attacking stuff since 01/02 first division when we raped the league than win shitty 1-0's. i had faith he'd cure our defensive shortcomings and believe joleon and toure just started to gel when hughes was sacked. but its not my hundreds of millions of pounds so i keep faith in the sheikh and mancini
