I miss Robinho

Just a shame that Bellamy and Petrov having a few good games has clouded your judgement but then again you do jump the gun and don't think before you type ALOT so it would be no suprise to see you dissmissing Ireland once the new colin bell makes a few good passes in the next game and then what? Sylvinho over Bridge? Santa Cruz over Adebayor? PMSL.

Actually yeah. Most decent managers pick people based on form not just because of their 'name' or reputation. For me whoever is in better form gets in the side, simple. If that means that Sylvinho plays instead of Bridge or Santa Cruz instead of Adebayor then fine providing they are proving themselves on the pitch.

So I quess you agree that Ireland should be benched too. Me too.

And once again you patronise people and give the impression of yourself that you have superior knowledge of football to get your point across.

No, you just keep coming across like a fucking muppet. It's therefore very difficult to not patronize you...

My point still stands, a fit Robinho that is available is the first name on the team sheet, whether you like it or not, thats not because he is my idol or my hero but because he is a superb footballer that makes whatever team is is playing in unbelievably strong. Just a shame that Bellamy and Petrov having a few good games has clouded your judgement but then again you do jump the gun and don't think before you type ALOT so it would be no suprise to see you dissmissing Ireland once the new colin bell makes a few good passes in the next game and then what? Another random and totally disjointed argument Pasta. You're doing yourself no favours here mate. Robbie a top class player. As are Tevez, Bellamy, Adebayor, Petrov, and SWP. Between them, we can go on win many many things. But only a kid with a crush would demand that ANY player should be first name on the team sheet regardless of their form...

Now since I can't figure out whether you're serious our just trolling - I'll leave it at that...I'm sure others will have their say.

What's ironic is Bellamy has put in a few good performances and people are hailing him as better than Robinho...

His overall performances this season have been better than Robinho's. So he doesnt do fancy stepovers or back-heels, etc, but he grafts hard for the team.
Sure, I love watching Robinho do all that fancy shit, but I also like to see a player tracking back, putting in tackles, etc.

In too many games last season Robinho went missing, especially away from home. The ONLY reason it was tolerated as much last season was because there was no-one to replace him....now that we have more options he'll have to improve or face sitting on the bench which is how it should be. All in all it will benefit Robinho and the team if he know's he has to work harder for his place.

On his current form yeah why not. So far he hasn't been half the player he was last season....not slagging him off, far from it, but if other people are playing a better game then yeah. Maybe a couple of games rest / sub appearances will do him good overall.

That's because Robinho has hardly played this season. There were a fair few games where Robbie was brilliant last season.

Aswell as having some very good games, Bellamy as also had some poor games this season. I personally thought he was just alright last night. He grafted hard and at times gave the team a lift. My point wasn't knocking his contribution nor was it knocking your OP, it was more a knock on those who vastly over-rate a player on the back of a few good games and those who under-rate on the back of a few bad games.

I agree, it's great we have probably 2 players for every position. It gives us one of the strongest teams in the league.

Excellent response Mr Shears, did you learn that off your Burnage mates?

PMSL, how is it random and totally disjointed? If your star player is fit and available then he should always play. Wayne Rooney went through a torrid spell of not performing well for England and went 2 years without a competitive goal and not living upto his earlier perfromances for United. If it was up to you and your superb knowledge football as you so kindly love to point out all the time, England's forward line would of been Andy Johnson and Peter Crouch and we all know what a stupid idea that is, almost as stupid and idiotic as playing Petrov and Bellamy over a fit Robinho but then again you do have a typical english attitude when it comes to football.

No they don't, they pick the team on who can win them the game.

Robi is a class act, a wonderfully gifted footballer who can light up the pitch.....

Bellemy is a premiership player... and on current form one of the best.

Which obviously has nothing to do with form does it ? So Robinho would win a game where he goes missing, but Bellamy wouldnt even in the kind of form we've seen in the past few games ? Dont talk rubbish....

I bet we would have beat Portsmouth 5-0 if Robinho had started instead of Bellamy.....bollocks.

I agree, it's great we have probably 2 players for every position. It gives us one of the strongest teams in the league.

And this is where we will never agree. Bellamy's all round game last night was superb, he grafted his bollocks off but did you also notice the excellent dead ball deliveries when required? Don't take it for granted, it's something we've been shit at for years. On top of that we had his endless running with the ball which terrifies defences and you have a very good performance, far from 'just alright' in my eyes.

In my opinion, Robinho gets untold adulation for not very much output whereas Bellamy's actual footballing ability is overlooked and he's dismissed as a 'grafter'. If they are both fit I'd have him in my side over Robinho every time. That does not mean I necessarily think Bellamy is a better player than Robinho but it certainly means that I think Bellamy is a more effective player in the Premier League on the left flank.

Notwithstanding all of the above, if Robinho gets fit and is prepared to fight for his place then fair play to the lad. But he certainly won't be walking straight into the team. Does anyone really think Hughes would do that?
