I miss Robinho

He has loads of talent and skill but he wants to play the game too slowly. Look at the pace we had on the pitch against West Ham and how direct we were. Look how we closed the defence down all the way to the keeper. I dont think he suits the team we had out yesterday but then again with him and Ireland in midfield we give teams a totally different set of problems.

I agree, Robinho isnt suited for direct play unless he plays as a striker in 442 (maybe). But I believe Robinho is vital to our team when we play top teams and he can do much more in those games than say Bellamy or Petrov. You just don't ran past players like Evra, Cole, Maicon, D.Alves etc.

If we have a fit Robinho available then he has to play. You don't not play him because Bellamy tracked back well a few times or Petrov knocked in a few good crosses. Football fans are very fickle. You watch Johnson set up a goal next week and all of a sudden Ireland will become surplus to requirements.

Robbie was superb for us last season especially in his first season in England where many of the top foreign stars in the Premier League have failed badly (Drogba and Ronaldo come to mind striaght away). He has played a full summer of Confederations cup and WCQ's, barley had a rest and was playing with an unfit ankle throughout that he picked up in November last year, but now because Bellamy has had a few good games and Petrov had a good game last night it's bye bye to our 25 year old superstar as we don't need him as we have two 30 year olds with a track record of bad injuries.

It's madness!

Sorry, but stop talking utter bollox and read my post again. NOWHERE does it say "bye bye Robinho". That's you talking in tabloid headlines rather than in facts...I'll spell it our or you in idiot proof form...

PLAYERS ARE PICKED BY MANAGERS BASED ON ABILITY AND CRUCIALLY, FORM. NOT REPUTATION OR WHAT THEY DID LAST SEASON.

If you don't get that, then you don't get football...

Fuck me BillyShears, why don't you get off your high and mighty white horse and actually understand what i am saying instead of jumping the gun and patronising users to get your point across. If you read through this thread and other Robinho threads, many have said he will leave and it won't be a big loss which is crazy.

You pick a side that can win you the match, if you simply picked sides on form then you will never EVER be successful and if you don't get that then i guess you don't get football as you so elegantly put it.

What the fuck does that have to do with "Robinho should be the first name on the team sheet"???

Again, you've lost yourself in your own bullshit. You were advocating that Robinho be picked REGARDLESS of his form or the form of the players around him. Most, me included, think that's naive and shows a lack of understanding about the way football is. Now I understand that when you have a hero who's a footballer you want to see him play. All fans have favourites. But the REALITY is that if Robinho was fit tomorrow, he would not get in the team ahead of Bellamy. Simple. That's based on form and results.

How people can slag Robinho off is beyond me. Look at the goals he scored last season, look at the chances he created, look at the skills on the fella. He was the first star to come to City and it's because of him we were put on the map last september, there is no reason not to love him. Individually he is our best player as he has the ability, the skills, the composure and just the world class ability on a ball. He is a luxury but we can do with one anyway as we have the Barry's, De Jong's, Tevez's and Bellamy's working hard alongside him. I think with this new team, Robinho will be a class act. Less men picking him up as there's more players to focus on hence him having space to carve open any defence.
Robinho infront of goal is clinical, something we have lacked a little this season.

Agree with you. Nobody can replace Bellamy at the moment haha. Imagine bringing Robinho on for the last 20 mins against tired legged West Ham/Hull City defenders. What a treat!
SWP would be replaced for Robinho IMO. His hard work has a good effect on the team but alot of the time he waste's good opportunities for us in the final third with his baby elephants first touch. Not slagging SWP off or anything i just feel Robinho is a better option.

Robinho is no hero of mine, he is a superb footballer who can win you a football match, i don't expect him to set a few and score a few EACH game as most fans do but i appriciate what he does for the team and you ask any neutral fan not caught up in the bullshit going around City fans at the minute that Robinho is not needed because we have Bellamy and Petrov and they will simply piss themseleves and not at your naivety but at your stupidity.

Cant wait for him to get back. We would have dicked West Ham 5 or 6-1 last night with him. Hes our star player and the clubs icon. The only player who can come up with a moment of sheer brilliance to change the game.

Agree. Robinho is on a different scale for class to Bellamy or Petrov, but at the minute Bellamy is useful. Hes underated, good on a football, and works his socks off. Bellamy is a starter either way. Petrov has had one good game, let's hope he pushes himself on now. What a great squad we have now!!! Possibly a bench of Robinho, Santa Cruz, Kompany, Ireland (when he gets back fit), Johnson. Top notch.
Players like Robinho, Santa Cruz, Ireland and Tevez aren't in full flow and we are winning nearly all of our matches, it's super. We will catch a team when we have all our players in full flow and win 7 or 8 haha!
Robinho is probably one of the best players i have ever seen in blue, i really like the fella and think he has a great effect on the players in the dressing room with his childish, fun personality. Great to have him here, lucky to have him here shall i say!
