I really don't rate Milner!

if city are after a midfielder id go and try and get essien from chelsea he can tackle play at the back if needed also he can strike the ball from edge of box and he can be the box to box player we need also has an eye for a pass

theres no way chelsea will let essien go he'll be like a new signing foe them next season

£20 million is city price as it is. Certainly not worth £25 - £30 million. Barca have only offered £30 million for Fabragas !

£20 million and Ireland as suggested in the media would be complete insanity, we would be a laughing stock. Milner and City would never live it down.

He is a good player and I rate him but his real world value is £15 - £18 million. Would improve what we have as can play in the centre, either wing or upfront. Be a handy player for us IMO but not at any price.

Still think Arteta is a better player (although older and injury concerns)

if we do end up paying over 30mill+
i can see why other supporters call city a joke.

I don't think any club will let us have a player for a reasonable price anymore. They will all fleece us. Does that make us a joke or is it just a fact of life when you have loads of money and a club knows you want one of their players? I don't see what alternative we have apart from not signing anyone tbh.

we didnt get fleeced for AJ

I know we didn't, I have said elsewhere that I see that signing as the exception to the rule to some extent but he was a championship player and totally unproven (I know he had had a handful of Prem games). And let's not pretend that we got some kind of mega bargain at the time, it only looks like that in hindsight now he has proved that he is a premiership performer. If AJ was already playing in the Prem and playing as well as we now know he can, then we would have been paying a fortune for him. I am assuming that this summer we will be looking for players who are totally proven and who the club will feel sure can immediately improve the first team.

I hope Millner becomes your big midfield signing, that would guarantee you not get anywhere as he wont offer anything you already dont have

If we bought Milner for anything more than about £8m-£10m I think we will have made a huge mistake! I really don't rate the guy, he works hard and you can't fault his attitude but i've seen him play numerous times for England and Villa and never seen him do anything special...at all! He scores a few goals yes but thats about it.

I really can't get excited over the prospect of signing him!
i really dont care who you rate...its about who the club rates
