I remember when we were s@@t

It's still raw after all these years. Still the only time I've cried at a football game. The sudden realisation that we were actually shit.

It's been a long way back...

Can't find footage of this, but the 4-1 defeat at home to Charlton in December 2000. Didn't Dunne try to lump it so hard upfield that it cannoned off a Charlton player and looped all the way over Weaver from halfway?

We've have come some way since then.

Remember that game well I was sat in the Kippax and my toes had gone numb it was that cold thinking surely I have better things to do than this.

I remember a game away to Oxford. We were 2-0 down i was behind the goal and i shouted to a guy i knew sat in the stands to my right,''What the **** is going on??'' He just shrugged.Dibble had let a soft second goal in and was getting some stick from the fans and giving some back when he took a goalkick, collapsed and got carried off.We had no sub keeper so one of our outfieldd players went in goal.We eventually somehow drew the game 3-3 i think and to cap it all i got food poisoning and ended up in hospital for 2 days, lol!

Looking back now it was like a groundhog day of crap performances, false hope and even more crap performances. How we stuck at it for 35 years i will never know.Sure there were some laughs,a few promotions along the way but on the whole it was one long horrible nightmare and one i never thought we would wake up from!

Even though we were in the premier league the second season under Pearce and beanie was some of the worst football i have ever seen following City.It was the first time i had a season ticket and didn't feel like going even though it was paid for it was so bad.Sheffield United i think it was at home summed it up for me.Freezing cold and 0-0 at half time i wondered why i was not at home in front of the fire and considered leaving.0-0 at 90 minutes and even colder i wished i had!

That is why the whole football world can say what they want about the money etcetera trust me we have earned that takeover, money and any good football and success that comes with it!

Walsall away mate not Oxford but your post summs up the pain perfectly.

I was there for that. Allan Harper, Mark Ward and Neil "dissa" Pointon. Dear me. Where was "Inchy" Heath when you needed him??

Reminds me of a 4-0 defeat at Loftus Road which must've been the same season...

Crystal Palace at home, 1996/1997 season. Night match.

Think we equalised with an own goal in the final minutes, remember nearly breaking a stewards nose as I jumped up in the air.

Remember this guy?

Manager at Inter Baku I've just found out.
