I remember when we were that abysmal..

Argh! Had the pleasure of ' doing' both Wycombe games. Sat in the Main Stand for the away match, keeping quiet throughout as we lost 1:0 (think it was a penalty ?) Had a good view that night...only thing remotely good about that 'experience'.
Had the pleasure of another splendid night seeing us lose at Lincoln City around the same time. 'Character building' we kept convincing ourselves at the time!
We had some bad results that season. Amazing we went up really.

Fulham A - 0-3
Wrexham H - 0-0
Notts County away -1-1
Chesterfield H - 1-1
Northampton A - 2-2
Preston H - 0-1
Lincoln A - 1-2
Reading H - 0-1
Wycombe A - 0-1
Gillingham H- 0-0
Luton A - 1-1
Darlington A (FAC) - 1-1
Mansfield (AWS) - 1-2
Bristol Rovers H - 0-0
Walsall A - 1-1
Chesterfield A - 1-1
York A - 1-2
Oldham H - 1-2
Wycombe H - 1-2
Bristol Rovers A - 2-2

Quite funny looking at that and only 25 years later we have won 5 Prem leagues and 7 cups.

Remember drinking with three mates at the Griffin, ( Heaton Mersey) one a Welsh rag, one a Blackpool fan and the other a Hereford supporter. Couldn't get any of them to go to the 3rd level game at home to Notts County. Stockport at home same night was cheered that the bus going to the match was packed whereas the bus going to Stockport was empty and they were a division higher. Met my mates after the game in the Whitty and told them what a treat they missed won 1 0 I think March 1999. Brilliant Ruby in the Shazan, shite footy great days.
Used to love The Griffin!!

Great pub. Was my local for years. One old boy in their told me the beer went down in price once from 62p to 60p. Also (apparently) a penny from every pint goes to the holt radium institute at Christies. It would be rammed for the 3pm games. I wonder if the landlord still lets out his barking labrador at closing time to get everyone to leave.

I remember when we were that shit, Oldham fans took the piss out of us.

Oldham fans.
Oldham have been to an EFL Cup final, three FA Cup semi finals, and finished runners-up in the First Division (top tier) once just one point behind champions Everton.

Stockport are fucking nobodies yet even those cunts have taken the piss out of us at one stage.

My lowest was Lincoln City. We scored early away and I said to my mate "a good win here and I don't have to go to the home leg as I have something on that I will struggle to get out of". Of course, we went on to lose away 4-1 so I had to go to the home leg
Lincoln than beat us again 1-0 at home to win 5-1 on aggregate
Lincoln was a low point.
I was in south africa at the time and news about City (pre internet obviously) was scarce to say the least.
Would try and ring home after each game to get results.

was walking through cape town and just flipped to the back page of a paper to see a small heading saying something like “Fallen giants sink to new low v Lincoln”.

just shook my head and walked off
