A little worthwhile point for those people who repeatedly make comparisons with 2012 and 2014
Around Christmas 2011, City only won 2 games from 5, after being cheated at Chelsea, drawing at West Brom, and then suffering a last minute (offside) defeat at Sunderland.
However, in between, we also won 2 home games, one of them against Arsenal
Later in the season, we went 3 games without a victory, after drawing at Stoke, and at home to Sunderland, before losing at the Emirates.
That was a true definition of a blip, and history records that we won all our remaining games, with United eventually cracking.
City won 12 from the first 14, and still only won the Title on Goal Difference.
Similarly, in 2014, despite a patchy away record early in the season, we never actually suffered more than 2 consecutive games without a victory.
This season, we’re struggling for 2 consecutive victories, so it’s not a blip. It’s a run of poor form that has continued since October.
The idea that everything will suddenly come good is based purely on blind faith, not to mention the hope that all the other results will work in our favour.
In reality, we've got a bigger chance of winning the CL, especially if we win tonight, and then draw Wolfsburg ( although the fact that I've added the caveat speaks volumes for the reality)
