I was there when...

David James playing upfront been mentioned.

Most surreal ending to a game I can remember.

the derby wins, gillingham, beating charlton 5-1 to go up '85, hudds 10-1,
the inflatables, especially west brom, all top days.
some bad ones though getting beat at stoke on boxing day, getting twatted 6-0 at derby,
notts county in the cup, luton in the cup, missing our goals in '99 coz i was half way down wembley way with the other slapped arses! lol

I was there at Colin Bell's comeback game (loony toon army, boxing day '77). 0-0 at half time. Bell was brought on as a sub for the start of the second half, and I swear to anyone on here, I've never heard Maine Road make a noise like it (even when we scored against the vermin). I was 15, and I shed a tear that day. And we went on to win 4-0 as well!
ditto, there were grown men crying.i was in kippax looking straight down players tunnel and we could see the king coming out of dressing room before anyone else.the middle of kippax was goin mad all rest of ground didnt know what the hell was goin on.i got goose bumps writing this.

1976 cup final.....14 years old..........outside wembley shitting myself as a load of 20 feet tall drunken geordies walked towards me......no, I tell a lie, they were 30 feet tall..!

There are a few unbelievable memories, but this has to just about pip it for me. It was only about my 5th game. I remember an old boy in the Kippax on the floor and all the City fans making enough room for him and helping him to get up thinking he had fallen over. He shouted 'fuck off lads, these legs wont handle another goal, leave me be leave me be!

I was there when John Burridge became the oldest player to appear in a Premier League game.

Anyone know if his record still stands?

I remember the first time the Kippax was segregated with an iron fence, to seperate home and away supporters. Although this was not used for every home fixture, mostly the whole Kippax was Blue. I think it was the winter of 1975. I stand to be corrected, too many lager's have flowed under the bridge, lol
