There's film of his goal here (it was the first of 2 - Bell scored the other):I saw Spider score a (very) rare winner for the Blues at Highbury in 1971. RIP

Arthur, George, Harry, Ken, Stan too. From an era when football, as a sport, was more enjoyable than it is now. Don't get me wrong; this period we've enjoyed since we were founded in 2008 has been beyond anything that I could have dreamed of. But watching other games; I don't get the same entertainment as I did, even 10 years ago, never mind 50 years ago. If it isn't VAR, it's overpaid prima donnas playing for clubs these days. Plus; the general feeling that it's a business now, as much as it is a sport. Anyway; rant over. My condolences to Ian's family on their sad loss. RIP Ian; say hello to Mike, Glyn, Colin, Neil and Francis for all of us.
I was thinking more about players from his era. Think most of them were before him? Apologies to those I missed out on.Arthur, George, Harry, Ken, Stan too.
Very sad news.
Another one from the squad gone from when I started following City, but because he wasn’t as high-profile as some of his squad mates, I only just remember him.
As others have said, 74 is no age nowadays.
R. I. P. Ian.
