Well the whole of football watches and waits for Ibra's next move

He is up there with Ronaldo and Messi and has the capacity to win trophies almost single-handed

This all day. He would be incredible for us, a marquee signing.

As Daz-Blue says it's almost certainly not happening

So I guess we just have to make do with a squad I could only have dreamt of 3-4 years ago

Unbelievable when you go through our Defence, Midfield and Attack

The only issue is how long will the new ideas and players take to gel

Luckily we've gotten our business done early this summer, so our new boys (incl. Jovetic and Negredo if we can get the deals finalized quickly) will have a full preseason to get the bugs sorted out. Giddy as all hell for the season to start.... a great time to be a Blue.

Definitely. World class player who would improve us without a doubt. He'd terrorise defences in this league.

However he doesn't fit with the type of player or wage structure we seem to be going for so I can't see it happening. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Real Madrid.

I rate Ibrahimović as a player but how can age not be a factor? Unless we got him at a good price he's not for me. Many on here were saying that RVP was too old last summer and he was only 29 (though I appreciate the injuries were also a factor for RVP) but I would prefer us to be signing/builiding the team round players in their prime.

Based on our usual practice of paying over the odds for younger players and letting them go for a pittance, then buying a player in his prime and releasing him on a free after three years isn't really a change in strategy. But what we should really be looking at is how much his worth is to City if his presence brings us a stack of trophies in his time here. If these trophies are substantial, his value to the club would be immense, even if he leaves on a free after his work has been done.

I see Ibrahimović as a top class player but he's a a journeyman. Every time he moves to a new club he's full of praise for his new club etc but the most games he's played for any club is 88 (in 7 clubs) - not quite on the level of Le Sulk yet but for me he would be very much a short term signing. His age would mean he's a risk but then again I suppose every transfer is a risk. There's certaintly no doubting his talent .
