The earths not going to blow up, volcanos erupt all the time and it doesn't cause a big deal, depends on many factors if it's going to disrupt air traffic

A large one could reduce farm yields for several years, pushing up food prices worldwide. This could cause starvation, wars and rioting leading to the deaths of tens of millions as we all compete for increasingly scarce resources. In the ensuing pandemonium it only takes one or two poorly maintained nuclear power stations to melt down and you're looking at a cataclysmic event, not just for humanity, but for all the earth's species.

Apart from that though, everything will be fine.
When Santorini/Thera blew in ancient times it devastated the whole of the central Med especially Crete virtually wiping out the Minoan civilisation
Yeah ancient times, thousands and thousand of volcanos have blown since and hundreds erupt every year....the difference with this one? What could it be? Oh yeah ...it was on Sky news, so you know about this one and it worries you yet the hundreds of others in the last few years that sky didn't report didn't bother anyone

Yep, except and until the one that really f*cks everybody up, because we couldn't predict it. Shit occasionally happens. (Google Toba). Thera/Santorini/Atlantis might have been a few thousand years ago, but just because it was doesn't mean it isn't going to happen again. Just because we're here now means sh*t. Somebody, somewhere, some time will cop for a big one sooner or later. Granted, we are no longer in the Bronze age, but anybody that thinks this sort of stuff has suddenly stopped because modern Homo sapiens are occupying parts of the planet, and have tablets and mobile thingies and that means it will all go away, are living in cloud cuckoo land. This has been going on for a long time (circa 4.5 billion years). One of these days we are going to get hammered by something;
Massive volcanic eruption, asteroid impact, or our own stupidity. Any idiot that thinks that this is how it is, so this is how it will always be, is seriously in for a nasty wake up call (and knows f*ck all about geology). Maybe not in our lifetime, but the law of averages says it will happen sooner or later.
Whether this species survives it is a big question. Might be better for the planet if we don't. Species come, species go. Been happening for at least 3.5 billion years. Will the planet miss us?

Or Staysure, they keep all your card details then get hacked.

By the way when Yellowstone blows we will all know about it and the marketing effort in the USA will have been a complete waste of time.

Yep Yellowstone when that goes is going to be a game changer, also el hierro in the canaries if it blows will probably send half the island in to the sea and generate mile high tsunamis across the Atlantic....wouldn't that be fun. This one in Iceland isn't much to worry about though, apart from maybe holiday plan disruption

just on the insurance front - not all policies exclude cancellation and curtailment due to volcanic ash. Shop around and look out for cancellation and curtailment cover for "reasons outside the control of the insured person" or "natural disasters" but also check exclusions which may include - withdrawal from service temporarily or permanently of any means of transport on the orders or recommendation of any Port Authority or the Civil Aviation Authority or any similar body in any country.

The policy may not actually state anywhere in the policy wording "volcanic ash" if in doubt just call and ask them.

Haha well put, what will modern man do email/tweet/text a volcano ''don't erupt tomorrow I want to watch Xfactor/Britains Got Talent/ Coronation St and you will spoil my Weekend''
Ancient time or modern time if it's going to go it's going to blow
