Icelandic Volcano Part 4

Is this the same one that caused all that shit a few years ago, cancelling flights all over the place
No, and its a quite different sort of eruption, mainly lava at the moment, there seems to be little ash as there is currently a plane circling it.

The one a few years ago eripted under a glacier which is what caused the huge amount of ash, this one has no (permanent) ice near by, though it's not far from the capital Reykjavik.

Is the Silver Dollar Bar still there ?

Than god for that, would hate it to prevent our cruise to the Norwegian fjords sailing going ahead in August..:) :)

Tsunami warning for East Shetland.
Tsunami’s have been found to be more common in the British Isles than we’d previously thought.

The last one was only 1,500 years ago, not the 8,000 years ago previously assumed.

Been to Iceland a couple of years ago on a cruise. Interesting place if you are a siesmologist, vulcanologist or into thermal energy. But other than that it is very dreary and unwelcoming, I will not be going back.

I take it you didnt go on a 6 hour coach tour of the islands various geysers and other stuff that i was to pissed to recall and decide to jazz it up a bit by filling bottles of coke with the litre bottle of vodka you bought on the plane, ending up singing songs with a new york fireman at the back of said coach whilst the rest of the coach load and the mrs got totally irate as you wouldnt "shut up" and "ruined the tour for everyone". Me and my yank mate had a great time!!

Tsunami warning for East Shetland.

Tsunami update. 30mm on Lancashire coast. Please move to ground above 2 inches to be safe.
I once went on a holiday to that little quaint Island 'La Palma', even went passed the dormant volcano, never realised it's significance until I watched a program about a 'Mega Tsunami' and it named this little Island as likely being one of the most cataclysmic events known to man should it erupt again, was fookin scary !

That’s why nobody lived there until about 1,000 years ago.
