ID cards.

.... haven't looked back through the thread but....

Is there any truth in the rumour that Ewan (sp) Blairs company is lined up to take this £2bn contract to deliver the ID cards?

.... and to think I thought I was relaxed about having an ID card.

At the moment, that isn't true. Although I wouldn't put it past them.

NI doesn’t have a photo. Not sure why you’re referring to chemists and hospitals
A photo! Wow they want our photo's too. And the facial recognition thats coming, that business and govn are already using.

You would happily live in that sort of country? How scared must you be to want the govn and police to have those powers? Thats not directed at you, just your sides argument.

Chemists and hospitals was a convo with someone else not you. ?

This thread has gone nuts, are people expecting the governments to go all out Farage?

Why on earth would they control bank details. For starters the banks won't let them and also the banks profit from your data anyway so they won't want to hand that over. You're extrapolating too much this is just a data merge and photo upgrade that brings the UK into the 2020s
The banks have already been in discussions with the government about bringing in CBDC and handing over a lot of details about your accounts, this ID scheme is only the start to full digital control.

Not in the habit of being ignored. I'll take it as a yes. So your argument against falls apart.
If you often make posts demanding an answer to a question you asked only a few minutes earlier I'm surprised you're shocked at being ignored.

Maybe try not to be so rude next time.

Apologies. It was just that you had posted subsequently and so I got the impression you had "moved on" and wasn't going to answer the question I posed around payment methods. I probably shouldn't have finished the bottle of wine either. :-)

No, no truth at all.

I'm amazed at those who are crying foul of the government on this. Where have you been for the last 40 years?
Successive governments have been changing laws so they can have our details and curtail our freedom for years.

FFs it won't be a physical "card". It's digital so will be on a device. If you don't carry cards,as I still do, I bet you have a method of payment on your phone, as I don't . Be honest do you have Apple or Google Pay?

It's like arguing with flat earthers isn't it. They just can't get their heads around it all

carried an ID card for 12 years so don't really see the big deal in having one but can see the obvious about the set up costs, the mither from people who are against it regarding the privacy side of things even though the wet farts are probably on every social media platform and carry a mobile so their where abouts is always roughly known anyway but tbh we know it's never gonna happen, " much ado about nothing " really

Not sure what people are supposed to be denying to earn that comparison they just have a different point of view to yours on an issue that for all your bluster hasnt been proven one way or the other.

Or was it just another gratuitous insult designed to demean the people that have a different opinion? I find that technique is usually used by those that dont have that's wrong an argument in the first place.

Im saying you haven't got a clue about the current set up of government data and the mess its in or have the foresight to see that this digital ID solves a lot of that mess and brings in huge time saving and money saving opportunities for the government and businesses. Your argument is basically non existent gibberish
