ID cards.

There should/needs to be a serious debate if we are going to bring these in I.e the cost of doing V the cost of not doing

Surely they can’t just shout ‘foreigners!!’ Or ‘illegal immigration’ and expect it to be waved through?

In fact, is there currently any political discussion in this country that doesn’t revolve around immigration? I find it quite disheartening

If ID cards are mandatory does that mean the police can stop anyone at anytime to check that you have it?

No. From what I understand it’s simply to provide of you are entitled to health care(which raises its own issues because nurses aren’t trained border staff) and will also be used where you would otherwise be required to provide ID

Say, renting and they want your driving licence but you don’t drive. You can simply provide this

That’s what I understand but I still find it all unnecessary

Whats the problem proving who you are? Don’t want ID card carry your passport on you, don’t have a passport carry your driving licence, don’t have one of them get an ID card. How many people just click cookies on the internet etc if your worried about people getting your information I’m sorry to inform you they already have it, they know you like dog porn and shopping at Primark.
I dont believe i consented to you using me as an example.

Whenever any government brings something new in it’s not for the good of the people or can someone educate me, there will be other reasons further down the years when we will regret digital identification.

It's another dent to illegal workers and criminal gangs, its not a major deal. we just now live in a time where everyone has to be outraged by any government decision.
it will. This will make it much much more difficult for individuals without legal status to gain employment.

All working adults will be required to present a digital ID when starting a new job. This ID will be linked to a central database.
But illegal employers and illegal workers dont show the relevant docs now … on account of them being … illegal

I can’t work out if you’re taking the piss or not, but if you’re being serious then you do know who David Icke is, right?
Have you listened to his interviews/podcasts?

When he goes on about the royal family being lizards, yes, hes clearly mentalZ but in-between that , he actually speaks some sense

Maybe give him a listen

Wow really… he’s crazier than a bucket of frogs… surely if someone rants gobbledygook for long enough they’ll eventually put a complete sentence together in the right order… sense is not what the man has…,

For now. Once the system is in place it’ll be “papers please” at some time in the future

Yeah, no.

And read that post back to yourself mate. You sound like a fucking fruit loop.

Based on the track record of pretty much every government this millennium when it comes to matters digital, I look forward to the almost certain financial, benefits management and oversight clusterfuck that the procurement and delivery of this politically motivated folly will involve. I'd love to see the options analysis for all this, except I bet there isn't one.
Yep.

Nobody gets turned away from the NHS

Nobody gets turned away from the NHS

I’m not saying they do, currently. But if you don’t have an ID card surely something would happen?
I’m not saying I agree with it. I’m simply saying that is one of the possible (un)intended consequences

It is weird though, the right oppose it because they think they will be forced to. have vaccines and used to. measure your green energy lelvels like a class system and othe batshit things

The left think it is a civil libities infringement and way of socially tracking people and survelence society.

Both sidies don't want it but for completely different reason
The right were screaming out for I'd cards not long ago.
It's all fucking mental.

Mastercard know what we buy
Deliveroo know what we eat
Uber know where we go
Twitter knows what we think
Facebook knows what are children look like and when thier birthdays are

I’m not sure an ID card is an invasion of privacy as society gave up privacy a long time ago

Most European countries have them and don’t seem to have a problem. I’m just not sure what the point is when I have a national insurance number, driving license and passport
Bluemoon knows what we write about..
