If Given goes?

How about Almunia or Fabianski from Arsenal??

Knowing that Given would want to leave anyway, it surely makes sense to offer them Given and take one of these two off their hands at the same time.

A better option than just selling him to say Villa and having to replace. Maybe we could get the Nasri deal pushed through quicker as well.

Just a thought.

Who do we sign as reserve to Joe who would be happy to be on the bench but good enough to play Champions League if needed?

Given needs to go and we need to sign an up and comng keeper - we can always get an emergency loan like we did a few seasons ago

No up and coming keeper is going to want to come here. How hard is that for people to believe. No money in the world will get a decent keeper with ambition to come here.
The up and coming keepers will not want to sit on the bench where they will NEVER get a chance, (and we saw that last year) behind a 24 year old.
It's not going to happen.

Well we are fooked then because if an up and coming keeper wont come than neither will an experienced decent keeper come - just a question most teams have 3 or 4 additional keepers as well as the number 1 whom get very little game time - if these are not up and coming nor experienced what are they smurfs?

They're shit. That's the long and short of it. And no amount of money is going to get us anything but average to shit.
And we'll either have to buy that, or buy a decent keeper to battle it out for the no.1 spot. Because we're not going to get a keeper half as good as Given, to sit on the bench.

So do we risk it, get an average no.2 and hope that Hart doesn't get injured or buy a genuinely good keeper that will fight for the no.1 spot.

Given sat on the bench, I can't see why Hart wouldn't be professional enough to do so.
So I guess we have to see how Mancini lets this play out. What in his mind is more important, that we are secure in the keepers position or that Hart is happy that he's no.1 and safe in the spot.

Guess time will tell.

If Given leaves, we already have our backup in Taylor and will not be bringing in anyone new. I certainly hope we don't.

Friedel signed for spurs plus he said he isnt going there to be a back up! still think we should go for Stijn Stijnen free just turned 30, was a regular for belguim(30 caps in 3 years) before he retired and has plenty of experience!
