If the rot continues what happens ?

And yet plenty of us could see this coming for quite some time with the poor dealings in recent transfer windows and a complacent over reliance on a small and ageing squad.

So why couldn't the club?

Weird isn’t it. They have made some mistakes over last few years but for me letting Alvarez leave and then saying we don’t need to replace him was just ridiculous.

And what are you going to do ? Go and support the next successful club ?
Has anybody actually said they will give up on City (or any other struggling team) and go and support someone else due to our recent performances?
A few have mentioned watching their local non-league sides as they've been priced out, but I don't recall anyone saying they would change due to results.

The poster I was replying to said ' we can't accept months of this'. It sounded like a spoilt kid hence my reply and question as to what he/she was going to do about it ;)

As supporters all we can do is turn up and encourage the lads. Those who don't attend contribute nothing anyway.
Moaning about recent form on a forum won't affect the club or players, neither will going on about 4 in a row, the 2023 treble or the domestic treble in 2019.

Not buying into the ‘we should never have bought back Gundo’ he’d had a fantastic Euros and he was one of the best players in La Liga, creating more chances and covering more ground than any other player. It looked like a steal at the time and perfect as back up to our midfield.

He was signed as a squad player but unfortunately he’s had to be used more than we, or he I’d wager, assumed.

The revisionism of we should have never bought him now we know how it has panned out could be applied to any number of players.
That is an opinion that does not stand up, Barca were desperate to offload halfway through the season, and Pep played him even with Grealish on the bench, as most of us expected he would, who he would back up is questionable as we still do not have a Rodri back up. We should have learnt our lesson, with Gomez, Phillips and to a lesser extent Nunes, that in a 25 man squad you can not have passengers.

Perhaps in the new year I'll be able to get two decent priced tickets next to my lad ;)

I'll tell what has to happen, we have to get new fans. Read into that what you want.
Some newer fans may dwindle away, the core will always be there. Some who have been discarded by the club may even return but probably not in great numbers. Hopefully we will have a good January and Summer and on the pitch all will be back to normal.
