If the rot continues what happens ?

The problem with all the people shouting about "entitlement" is they are taking every shred of disappointment as someone being "entitled". This is complete bollocks.
There are plenty of fans on this forum who are disappointed, pissed off and bloody angry about how things have turned to rat-shit so quickly. And one win in twelve is rat-shit in my book.
However, I've not yet met a single City fan who is considering suspending their support until we improve. We don't need to replace fans who aren't going to turn their backs on us in the first place.
I did all but two competitive games (home and away) in our single season in the third tier and I don't need someone to tell me how to support my team. It's shit at the moment, and today's result at the swamp showed why we should all still be bloody angry about losing to such a shite rag team last weekend.
I believe the rags were booed off today. Did that happen last week? No. It was stunned silence in all the home sections.
Cycles come and go as you say, but the recent collapse is probably the biggest plummet from grace of all champions since the 1937-38 season. Or Leicester if you want something from the current era. As for "it's not why many of us were here to begin with"; well that's bloody obvious given that so many of our current fans were here before the takeover. It won't bother me if we lose a few glory-seekers, but I doubt we'll lose any long-term fans due to a poor run of form.
Don't forget mate, it allows some people to position themselves on a higher place on the "biggest blue" podium as well if they can admonish someone who shows dissent at the current situation.

Sometime in the 1960s when we were having a bad run my Uncle Bill told me not to feel so bad - we were going to sign two Chinese super stars "Wee Won Won" and "Lon Time Sin". The January transfer window is only a few days away - I wonder if those player's offsprings are available.

We'd probably end up signing sum dum fuck.

We have a hell of a history and this period is only a few paragraphs in an entire novel.
It doesn't matter that we've had it far worse in the past, so have most clubs.
In the grand scheme we're having a dire season after a record breaking 4 in a row.
Are we allowed to feel annoyed by our drop in form? Damn right we are. I don't think it makes us entitled. We don't believe anybody has a divine right to be at the pinnacle. It's not entitlement that questions a rapid loss of form or failure to replace some key players.

I think most of us would have said a 5th successive title would be a tall order. Eventually we'd run out of steam and need to regroup. We're just shocked at the plummet.

It can be fixed. We are fortunate enough to have fund that most clubs would envy. We have one of the best managers in the world and we have a rock solid fan base behind us.

The rot is unlikely to continue indefinitely. We are just going to have to try and enjoy the rebuilding process and prove that we really are the top tier club we say we are.

We are and we are only 8 points worse off than we were at Christmas last season in a season we won the title.

When you look at the injuries we’ve had and the inevitable comedown after four league titles in a row, we’re not actually doing too badly to be only the Brighton defeat where we should have taken more of our chances and won, the United defeat where if we’d kept our composure late on and won, and the Palace draw where we could have defended better for their goals, away from being where we were this time last year.

I know the run we’re on is horrific, but if we can turn this around, fourth is easily achievable.
So no need for a change of tactics or personell then ?

We do need a change of personel but that won't happen until Hugo Viana officially takes over. Could do with finding a solution with the injuries. And chin the supporter who has put a curse on the team and club (although normally I can't fight my way out of a paperbag)
