If the rot continues what happens ?

Frankly losing to the worst United side in living memory would be bad if we were on a good run. But after all the ridiculous results recently it's s totally unacceptable.
As people have said, Pep renewing was supposed to be a catalyst to better performances. When in fact the reverse is true.
What really annoys me is that he never gives youth a chance.
We have been doing even when we were at best. It means more to the supporters than to the players especially under Pep. Got accept that way of thinking.

A full (almost) week off will help, then Villa away will be tough but they in mixed form as likely to lose as win right now.

In 2005/06 we were secure with 10 games to go, the 40 points in the Sunderland game, the big disappointment in that run was the Wham QF, the rest was pretty normal as we had bad run in 2003/04 which, 14 PL without a win, which really was a long winter of discontent.

It would only be unacceptable had we not had an injury crisis like we’ve had.

That - plus the inevitable drop-off after years of high intensity - is why the form is like it is due to the results being poor off the back off the injuries and confidence being low off the back of the results.

Hopefully Stones can be available next week with this midweek off.

The average points required to stay up over the last five seasons is 32.4 points… two more wins and we’ll be safe!

IF we don't get in the CL next season it would be hammer blow, don't kid yourself.

The club will and expects to get in that top 4 and thus expects the income from the CL, the loss of a very minimum of 50m would be a huge blow but more importantly the carrot to signing players and playing in the CL is huge. Top players want to play in that competition and if a player has the choice of clubs, the one's in the CL have a huge advantage.

One get out of jail card we do have is the Club World Cup, that would cover the loss of CL in terms of finance but that comes with many disadvantages including our players yet again having no break from the game they desperately need and again no proper preseason to bed in new players.

That's why I am sure the club will go out and be very aggressive in the January market, 3 or 4 signing could transform the season and give us a good chance of getting in that top 4.

Fair enough in principle but after being ridiculed, Europa Conference Chelsea seem to be ok. Let’s see what Viana has up his sleeve.

And 18 years ago we had Bernardo Corradi

The rejuvenation starts on Sunday. Take one game at time as they say.

This did not age very well. And I'm not in the least bit smug. I believed that too. In fact I was almost sure of it. And it would indeed have been true until the 87th minute of the match. Not that we were even close to the level we're used to seeing, even then.
This team simply does not look like itself. And forget the Pep teams Mk I and II. This team does not look like the Mancini and Pellegrini teams, in that they never folded so spectacularly, even over a two month period, that I can remember.
It's very, very difficult to fathom. Very strange. We're well beyond the injury explanation, now.

Glass man Stones is finding it hard get on the pitch at all these days. Problems in attack as well as the defence. Just not at it this season. United are absolute garbage yet we let them off the hook with school boy defending. Unbelievable and fucking annoying.
Stopping individual mistakes has to be the priority and some of our players have been dropping huge clangers. Stones we have to hope can stay fit for a run of games together with Akanji and Dias in the defence will a huge improvement. This will not make us title challengers but the rot will have been stopped. Regarding midfield we need reinforcement in January to ensure we’re not overrun.

We are 20%of the team we were from todays display

Akanji, Stones, Kovacic back brings us closer to 50%
Bobb, good RB, 6 and 8 and we’re 65-70% and this should be enough for top 4
