if we finished 5th...

Alera you moan at the squad being Hughes's fault but the better performers in our team have all been Hughes signings. Effectively Mancini has cost us a lot of games this season. The decision to send Bellamy out on loan and keeping Jo, playing players out of position (Dzeko, Adebayor, Milner etc), persistence of zonal marking leading to more goals being conceded from set pieces and the defensive conservative approach to games against the Arsenals, Chelseas (we were lucky against them and had 1 shot on goal), and the man uniteds. Given time Hughes would have done a better job, or at least we would be playing more attacking attractive football with more chance of winning these matches. At the end of the day if we finish 5th we haven't improved on last season and if you asked the aim of the team at the start of the season it was to challenge for the title and without doubt finish in a top 4 place. A top 4 place at the start of the season was seen as a cert, by the pundits, media and our staff. There wasn't any question of finishing below that, and if we don't finish in the top 4 you can bet Tevez is off, Yaya Toure is off and maybe a load more, leaving us with the original Hughes players. Sacking Mancini if we don't get a top 4 spot would be seen as ambition in my opinion, following the recent disaster of finishing 5th!
I agree with continuity and teams at the top sticking with a manager long term but if Mancini doesn't get top 4 this season, he obviously isn't the right man for the job. He's had a full season and to not make our bottom target would be laughable.

No idea if I'm considered "sensible" or not.

I agree it would be a disaster if we don't finish in the top four, I'm just not getting into hyperbolic nonsense. I prefer to discuss rationally.

I merely debated your point that "if [he] doesn't get top 4 he wants fucking shooting with this squad". Like I say, there is very little to choose between the squads of the top five.

At the risk of being called arrogant (again) I disagree.

I think our squad is as good as Anyones in this league. In fact I think our squad is better than the current leaders

To be fair, the arrogant comment was based on this:

I tell you what, all you "finish 5th and stick with bobby" people make me sick .

You don't know anything about football.

You live in cloud fucking cuckoo land.

You absolute dreamers . I'm ashamed to share the same forum as you.

A little over the top, I'm sure you'll agree.

As for our squad being better than United's, I disagree.

Lol Hughes bum bandits are back again. What about bridge, rsc, swp, badabayore, Bellamy.

People wants Bellamy back he fucking laughed and celebrated with twitchy on our home pitch when they knocked us out of the champions league spots.

I found that well fucking funny get him back to the club now. Dd is the biggest wum on this site it's well documented.

Our squad would have been alot better had Mancini not sent Bellamy and Ade out on loan instead of Jo! He's made some really strange brain-dead decisions what could cost us big time!

Bellamy is fucking scum. Even the cardiff fans think so. He caused massive trouble at every club he ever played for. He laughed when we got knocked out of the champions league spots are you for fucking real ?

Yep, it's rather embarrassing.

People can't really see that Hughes wasn't the way forward...his transfer policy was a disgrace, bar a few good signings...£18m on Santa Cruz, £24m on Lescott etc, fucking shocking and is the main reason we can't permanently shift the dead wood.

I won't go into anymore of his flaws, because I'd be here all night, but we all know what they are and they're the reasons he was rightly sacked.

It's about time people got over Hughes, but I won't bank on it.

He's history and if things don't improve, Mancini will be too.

would you want Mancini to stay? Or would you want a new manager who would inevitably buy half of a new team? Though I guess the decision will be made by the board regardless of what we think.

I'd rather stick with Bobby and have a second year of most of these lads together than start all over, yet again. Just imo of course.
It's fantastic being a blue! We were having the same conversation not 4 seasons ago difference being would manager get sacked if we got RELEGATED! So I don't really mind. I guess I personally would keep Mancini and sack his coaching staff

Well well agree to disagree .

Evra, Rooney , vidic and that's the lot, man for man. and in terms of reserve teams we are well ahead.

Managers, that's a different kettle of fish of course

Whatever Bellamy is and i'll agree he can cause trouble at clubs because he's a bit of a winner he doe's have a fair bit of ability and more importantly pace and can change a game, did you go to Leicester and watch Jo performance, don't get me wrong i like Mancini but he's got to learn from his mistakes and playing him again at Notts County don't seem like he is. If he decides to go to Old Trafford again next week to defend for 97 minutes i fear for us.
