I agree to an extent and im not at hughes bandit. I didn't think hughes was the right man for the job like Mancini but the job was a lot more difficult to buy players under Hughes as we had to buy players of that level. Buying bridge etc was just to propel us on our way to the next level. They were short term buys, apart from Tevez, Kompany, De Jong and more who have all turned out very good. Mancini had the players there and had a built up reputation, making us more attractive therefore it was easier to buy the big names like Toure and Silva.
Hughes had to make those buys to put us on the map and build our reputation therefore he bought bad in some cases. RSC was unfortunate, and had we had the Blackburn Santa Cruz would your opinions be different of the signing by now. Santa Cruz under Hughes was brilliant and Bridge at Chelsea was very good, but unfortunately both never worked out. The same can be said about Milner, Kolarov and Boateng though, even though I won't slag them off just yet, ever since they've joined they have looked very poor.
