If we had our own version of FC United...

Its the reasons and hypocrisy behind it that beggars belief.
These fuckers loved it when martin edwards launched them into space by floating the club shares thus getting huge commercial backing.
BUT they were always open to a predator milking them dry,utd fans didnt buy those floated shares the people who saw ££ to be made by selling them to ANYONE who offered a profit did.
Those at fcu of Bury sucked the Devils cock but didnt like the fact that some day they would have to swallow.

a city fan ,who goes to watch fc whatever, your not a blue ,if you are ,your the sort we can do without.bye

I see where this fellow blue is coming from, people telling him to fuck off and so on are being cocks.

I won't ever go and watch FC United, even though Gigg Lane is about 30min walking distance from me.

I follow MCFC simply because my Grandfather went and watched them, my Father, my Aunt, many other family members and there are other links such as my own Mother working for Colin Bell etc...
I feel I have a connection to this club and although I have gone and supported other local clubs as a kid being taken to Burnden Park, Boundary Park and so on, looking back at my family history there has consistently been people following City.

Football has changed dramatically since yesteryear, but so has society. Football has always been a reflection of Society and this celebrity obsessed game we now have just highlights how we operate in the western world.

Commercialisation is rife in this game and has been before I was even born.
The problem we had at MCFC is that our owners were clueless and couldn't compete with the better businessmen at other clubs.

We now have better businessmen running this club.

I would like the club to be part-owned by fans, maybe ADUG/Mansour would donate %10.0 to season ticket holders??
I highly doubt this will happen however.

The mistake FC United did was creating a club based on the Rags, literally excluding many football loving people in the area who would of shown some support.... But I won't ever support Rag shit!

Where do i start.

We spent years in the wilderness while other teams spent vast amounts buying the best player to win trophies and sneering at our fantastic support while doing so.

Now we have arrived at the top table you think football has been spoiled by money, presumably by Man City.

I myself am loving the brilliant football played by our fantastic team.

Me, I`m fucking loving it.

Naysayers like you should go and find a team with no money and poor players who play dire football, I`m sure you can stroke your ego knowing you`ve do the right thing.

Good bye and good riddance.

I'd much rather part with £585 of my hard earned cash watching the at times fantastic football I feel fortunate to be able to see week in week out rather than pay half that, watch utter dross and be able to have a beer I can mope with.
Some people will never be happy,I suspect you are one of them and perhaps you would serve the club better by not renewing your season ticket so that someone on the waiting list who really wants to watch City gets the opportunity and you can toddle off to watch FC Utd with the rest of the Ordsall clan

"If we had our own version of FC United..."

Maine Road FC are NOT a breakaway club. They started as a Sunday team for an OSC branch and grew from there.

Agreed. But if anyone is disillusioned by modern top-flight football, fancies watching some matches at the grass roots level, and wants a City connection, then Maine Road would seem to be a natural choice.

Non league football is great, but I don't see the need to create a City lite or United lite.

If you've had enough of premier league football get along to your local non league club. They could all do with a bit of extra support.

Kind of agree with the above sentiment. I love City more than England. Yes my costs for watching City go up every year, but i am watching Silva, Aguero, Toure, Kompany etc. i am watching my team challenge for the Games major trophies, so No to an alternative City for me.
Maybe the original poster should consider City Youth teams!
