If we had our own version of FC United...

I go and watch Trafford now and then which are the club most local to me and it is enjoyable, also makes a nice change to be treated as an adult whilst watching football. Apart from the football at City, I don't enjoy it as I used to, watching top level football has changed beyond recognition and not completely in a good way for me.

I'd never go to watch a break away City as some sort of protest, City are and will always be the only club I ever support, but I would consider it as an alternative where I can watch football with like minded blues and maybe get some of the enjoyment I once had back.

What the fuck? Is this the same rabble that jumped on the 'against modern football' ticket, eg fucked up kick off times, yet were soon happy enough to take Sky or whoever's dollars to shift to a Friday night?

In reply to the OP the answer is NO. I stuck with the Blues during the dark years so why on earth would I want to jump ship now?
We have the best owners in the world & the best squad of players in our history. Seriously what is there to protest against?
Believe me I have protested in the past against Swales and quite probably would have jacked it in for good if that share stealing Thai
twat had stayed much longer and continued using the club for his own personal political purposes ... but he didn't. We won the lottery, all
our dreams have either come true or are in process of coming true so seriously WTF?????

I think the OP is a wum but the answer is NO!Some of us have as good as lived this anyway when we were in the old third division.Sure we could stand, had some laughs but the truth was we made the most of what was a shit situation, one we wanted to get out of as soon as possible!

Now we can compete with the top four on a level playing field instead of watching them have all the fun and win all the trophies.I am watching some of the best players and football in over forty years, have seen us win four trophies including two league titles and play in the champions league. Our club is growing at a fantastic pace and if a season ticket holder all for less that thirty five quid a game.Give that up????Anyone who did must be insane!

i Was going to give the op the benifit of the doubt ,i dont know why ,but he must be a sad lad with no friends to waste his time posting this shite on here, got to be a wum or a rag or both

I'm a City fan, i love our owners if i didnt love them i would hope they would just do one But i would still support City, i wouldnt go and watch some other pretend team. Follow the eds team, follow the womens team but always follow City, dont be a hypocritical rag bastard, how can you say you support your team when you stop supporting them for political reasons! Proper rag bastards. City and no one else.

I can never get my head around why people within the first few replies of a thread quote the O.P.

It's infuriating when you're scrolling on phone. Especially a lengthy post like Stretfordians.

I couldn't follow another club. I'll be honest, I didn't stick with City through thin and thin. Between 95/98 I was living all over and didn't fancy the excess travel.

I lost the desire to go as much as i had as a teenager and in my 20's. I think a part of me went with the Kippax terrace too.

I don't hate what the game has become though. Football itself in the premier league is as good if not better than anything any of us have ever seen. Compare it to say, the music industry and I'm sure which is better vfm.

Something I've noticed about City fans speaking of disillusionment is that it's a recent phenomena? Like, since 2011. I might be wrong.. But after thirty years of seeing City badly run and playing not too well there is a sense of 'what now?' After hoisting four trophies in as many years

As long as there is that sense of anticipation and you and thousands around you urging City on with the 'go on', a brief intake of breath around the ground as the ball hits the net followed by the brief yet delicious release of euphoria I'll love City.

I hope that never changes.

What an unbelievably embarrassing thread - I'm actually appalled that anyone can even entertain the idea of a breakaway club, as FCUM epitomise everything that is wrong with the spoilt, entitled mindset of manure fans.
'We don't like the owners, so we're going to throw the dummy out of the pram and set up a mini-me tribute act, so that a bunch of middle aged ex-thugs can look hard again by terrorising village team's fans'.
I wasn't over-enamoured with the dreadful shite we played in the 80's and 90's, but I never even contemplated supporting another team - those pathetic rag cunts were winning everything in sight, but that still wasn't enough for some, who promptly thanked the club they claimed to support by turning their backs on them.
What a wonderful display of loyalty.
For a so-called blue to even suggest such a thing is frankly shameful.
We have one of the lowest prices for seasoncards in the Premiership, we are playing the best football I have seen in 40 years, and we are Champions.
Our owners have regenerated and revitalised an area which used to be a pretty desolate place by pumping in millions of their own money, including bankrolling the finest academy in the country.
They changed things around for the better, and gave us a club we can have pride in again, and a future we can look forward to with optimism, rather than the error-prone laughing stock we had become.
So let's show our gratitude for all this by setting up some infantile offshoot playing Sunday League pub football.
Fucking unbelievable, Jeff.
