If we sign ronaldinho,, is it still a coup??

His style doesnt suit the Italian league and to some sort of degree he may struggle here too. Saying that though i remember him ripping Chelsea to pieces a couple of seasons ago when they had the best defence in the league.

He's work a crack if hes willing to put the effort in.

Reading this thread is exactly why City are becoming a laughing stock and our fans being hated by other teams. Ronaldinho not good enough for Man City??? Granted he is not world player of the year material anymore but he is still better than 90% of the players in the premier league. Ronaldinho would be a huge coup and with a bit of looking after could give 2-3 years of top quality football.

Yeah it is a coup. He's in condition according to Milan fitness coach. The reason he isn't playing is because of Ancelotti preferring Seedorf....which to be fair seems to be working, altho Seedorf himself isn't playing well.

Kaka and Ronaldinho struggle together because they both like to drift out toward the left hand side. This could also be the reason for Ronaldinho's apparent struggle in his last year at Barca - they signed Henry, a player who likes to drift out to the left. He is less effective when he has to play in field. His downfall has wrongly been compared to fat Ronaldo's which in truth is not fair. In the 2 seasons where he has supposedly been useless he has scored 1 in 2 at Barca and 1 in 3 for Milan (better than 1 in 2 in the games he's started).

The only reservation i'd have would be over the fact that Robbie drifts left so in effect we'd have the same problem. Still it's a squad game and if we buy Ronaldinho in the hope that he'd give us 10-15 goals a season then i can't see us being disappointed. He's still capable of that as he has shown in his last 2 seasons....even if he isn't quite the player he was 3 years ago.

no thanks.

too slow, too greedy, and had no interest in playing for city this season,

serie a is weaker than the premier, and he is making no impact, a no brainer really.

Don't think people are questioning his ability more his reasons for wanting to come = £ and that his attitude and application are in question. Add to the fact that he can't be arsed sorting himself out and training properly for two of the worlds biggest clubs in Barcelona and AC Milan so what his effort for us would be leaves a lot to be desired.

That's another myth. We all dismiss Serie A as being shit. We also dismissed the Bunesliga as being shit when talking about Hamburg and Schalke. It's just ignorant.

Serie A just doesn't get the coverage it used to get. It's still a very good league....still probably on par with the Prem and La Liga. Just the Premier League has the Sky coverage and all the hype.

what has coverage go to do with anything.

compare how the top premier league teams do now against the best of italy in europe, to how they did in the past.

if the best of italy cannot trouble our top 4, why would a fringe player of milan make an impact for city.

Because city are not a top 4 club yet, so ronaldinho would improve us immensely.

Of course he's supremely talented, but he's not got the right attitude and therefore won't be able to handle the Premier League. It's that simple:

Because we are a million miles away from being a top 4 club.

The top 4 in England might be better than the Top 4 in Italy. But it's not like any of them got steamrollered in the Champs League. Arsenal won on Pens, Chelsea - Juve was really close and Scum were well fortunate against Inter.

Plus the rest of the league is probably stronger than the Prem. Just my opinion. Anyway getting back on point, he'd improve us imo. He's 3 times the player Elano could ever dream to be...and this season proves it.
