if your wtchn on the tv your a ****

This forum makes me laugh. We deserve all we get from the rags just by having pointless slanging matches between ourselves. All this hand-wringing and bitching plays right into their hands. City have never been great Cup tie followers at home. End of story.

All this "I'm a bigger blue than you" bollox is tiresome and doesn't take into account personal circumstances.

I remember standing in the City end in the '81 cup final, surrounded by dickhead Spuds fans, when 20,000 City fans couldn't make the replay. I didn't slag of my mates for not going though!

Get a grip lads.

I've only been to one game this season and that was a corporate ticket with work.
I said at the start of the season that I wasn't go to any of the games because of the mortgage and bills which have got to come first. Also I'm trying to save for my wedding which is bloody impossible! Doesn't make me any less of a supporter thank last season when I was going to the games. In a few years time if/when I have more free money I'll get back to going to the games but until then its, TV or internet for me.
I'm sure I'm not on my own

I think that's fair enough fella we all have our own circumstances.

I do however get frustrated by the no shows from people who spend years moaning about the lack of European football, the same people no doubt that will be the first to complain and slag the team/manager if we don't qualify for next season.

Strange!

Bollocks to reading through 45 pages of this thread but gotta say I was disappointed with the turnout last night. Can't slag people off as I pick and choose my games but the way I saw it was would I rather see us in the last 16 in Europe or watch us play Middlesborer. We should piss it in the 2nd leg so will a European quarter final be enough to bring the stay aways back?A similar attendance would be pretty embarassing.

FFS, i can't believe, after a good 2-0 win in Europe last night, the most popular thread is 45 pages long slagging the attendance and each other off. In fact, i can believe it, this is Bluemoon

yeah but it was a joke the amount of people there, was loving it when they started singing if you watch it on tv then ur a ****, its true!

I didn't go last night, and yeah, i couldn't be arsed. Finish work at half 6, go to the game. get a bus back into town, then another 2 buses back to my house. would have cost me a fortune, and ended with me not getting home until at least half 11, so in my opinion, wasn't worth it for me last night. Sorry to everyone who's a better fan than me.
Apology accepted

this thread is very sad, its also insulting, i wasnt there i havent had a season ticket for years since i was 16 and my old man stopped getting them me as a crimbo present and i had to step into the real world of dead end jobs and fuck all cash, i make the odd game were i can and i fight the blue corner constantly as i always have and always will so to be called a **** by fellow blues is pretty shitty if you ask me, anyone thinks im a plastic blue or whatever can go fuck emselvesi expect this kind of slagging from other fans but not your own .. also i know a cpl of blue boys in there mid seventies that cant make games does that make them cunts as well ..bit of a let down that boys and girls

I very rarely miss any home game but I must admit I did alot of soul searching over last nights match. I always go with my lad but my missus has got a taste for the european games which means I have to buy 3 tickets at £20 which is obviously £60.
£60 is a fair amount of cash for a game which is on tv. In the end I bit the bullet but I'm sure not everyone could afford to do that nor would alot want to.

I think this topic should be closed, it's not going anywhere.

I saw the song as a lighthearted comment about how the attendance was disappointing. Others might view it differently.

There is no need to start slagging off people who weren't there and likewise there is no need for those who weren't there to get so worked up or even start slagging off those singing the song.

Ideally we'd sell out every game and the atmosphere would be great. Yes, it's disappointing that the crowd wasn't bigger but I'm sure all those who were at the game like myself really enjoyed it. Those who watched on television missed out and that is their loss.

My opinion on this issue which seems to always raise its ugly head after a European night is that we are all blues in the end.

Some people choose to watch it at home, but do they still not get the same excitement coming up to kick off and do they still not cheer as loudly when the first goal is scored? People prefer different things, Jay clearly feels going to the match and then lamenting all other fans for not being as 'hardcore' as him proves his dedication to the cause.

I would prefer if more fans went last night but by no means would I feel the need to question the loyalty of others. In my Uni house I live with a rag and he does not even know when United are playing most the time yet still proudly boasts of being a fan. I would imagine that the likes of Bigga and Gelson were getting the usual nerves during the day and looking forward to watching the game as much as people who went to the game were.

The song last night was uncalled for as everybody leads different lives and the one common factor is we are all Manchester City fans.

For my part I think too many fans have let the team and the club down.

All I hear are fans banging on about how important it is to be playing in Europe. That European football is the be-all and end-all. If your club's not playing in Europe you can't attract top players and so on and so on.

So City qualify for Europe (albeit via a snide fair play route) and thousands can't be bothered to turn up!!! I could understand this in the early rounds and perhaps even the group stage but we're in the last few rounds now.

The tickets are, in my view, reasonably priced and have been throughout the competition.

We were eliminated in round 1 of the other two cup comps so there's been no shelling out for Carling Cup or FA Cup runs.

This is only our second season in European competition in how many decades? Nobody's been spending a fortune on going to Euro games in the recent past so there's another excuse out.

Many of the excuses I've read on here are just lame. Like the standard Teletext-United 'fan' excuses that "I would go to OT but it's so hard to get a ticket" - they're bollocks.

If you don't want to come, then fine but when the club isn't playing European football, don't moan about it because you'll have no right to.

great song!26thou was embarrasing.

just seen all this going on, and its probably all abit tired now, but will add my opinion anyway.

I didnt go last night and to be honest the only home UEFA games Ive been to are the one at Barnsley and FCK last time.
However I made a conscious choice to miss the homes so had a few more quid for aways - and that was spent going to Cyprus and Germany. If we can and do get Ajax - I will go there , likewise with the final.
I do feel ashamed not to turn up. But money is tight. Ive got a ST as have my 2 lads. So the league is covered, but gota be careful with what I spend beyond that. For us to have gone last night would have cost £50+ all in. Id rather have that on account for the next away

Im not sure what age of the OP is - but when you got committments, city just cant come above everything else.

I played futy last night and didnt wear anything with city on, beacuse Ive ridiculed so many reds out in their colours when they are playing at home - and to do the same myself makes me cringe. Saw from 15 mins in and didnt leap about when SWP scored for the same reason.

Win the lottery and will never miss a game again.
Til then just got to apply some sense
Dont think Im a cvnt because of this though

Probably because some twat from the radio scours these message boards for potential controversy.

It's a shit radio station anyway - ignore it and it will go away.

i can understand mate, i wasnt trying to single anyone out, i was just frustrated that everyone crys out for european football and no one turns up!

my mate goes to all the euro away matches and none of the home ones, its at home where we need support the most!

its also very hard to now argue that we have better fans than villa and spuds, because their fans turn up to these matches
