Spot on, no need to stop the clock for routine corners and throw ins, just those you listed which are using up time. I think subs shouldnt be allowed in added on time as well, if a player is fouled and has to leave the pitch injured the player committing the foul should also leave the pitch (in added on time).

It's so simple really isn't it ?

Just keep time independantly & stop the clock when play stops.

You wonder how they might possibly get it wrong, but somehow, they will probably find a way.

They would haveto include throw ins, hence the Cardiff example.
 
An easy way to speed things up is for the substitute coming on not having to wait for the player he’s replacing to leave the pitch before he can enter it.

As soon as the game stops the sub comes on. Play then resumes in 20 seconds come what may - if the player coming on isn’t in position, tough shit.

I've always thought fans should put more pressure on visiting keepers. Imagine keeper comes up and catches... "ONE - TWO - THREE - FOUR - FIVE *hoof*...

Yes & no IMHO. Time wasting has to be dealt with but referees simply need to enforce it via bookings - they just whistle less in general. The nonsense that goes on in deadball situations could be whistled in every case & in every league around the globe

I'd just like the general state of refereeing to improve, even if it never matches the quality level of the players themselves - it's just really poor or deliberately biased. Even VAR which ideally figured to improve things has shown its own susceptibility to bias.

If nothing else, be consistent - even if you're poor, call it the same both ways. Else the game is fine, apart from the silly money that may eventually kill it
 
Something has to be done imo. Its been fucking me off for a while tbh. I find myself getting bored at times with the constant time wasting from kick off by opposition goalies at the Etihad. Its just become a pisstake in all honestly.

It is one of them partisan things though where you dont give a shit when your teams benefiting. Like who remembers Dzeko taking the piss at Everton to win us the league or Kyle Walker in the derby last season.

Also why the fuck has the prem not got multi ball?

Taking the ball to the corner flag in the last minute - is that not time wasting or is that an acceptable face of time wasting?
Its all a part of the rich tapestry of football.
